We did it the 1st half of the season, that was more fun. Teams fading but they gotta find a way to finish strongWe should try scoring the first goal sometime

As I said, he settled in later, but his play put us behind the 8 ball.Ullmark won it for Ottawa. Tarasov didn't lose it for us. He could have maybe stopped one of the goals but then he's also why the game didn't get away from us and we weren't down 5-1 in the third.
I checked moneypuck and they put Ottawa's xG at 4.79! Pretty good game from Tarasov by that metric.
it just puts him on par with the entire group of skaters that have been taking entire periods off lately. There is plenty of blame to go around and I guess the team can fairly say it's not 1 person costing them anything right nowAs I said, he settled in later, but his play put us behind the 8 ball.
Yeah that’s fair. Just would like our goalie to play above their head every once in a whileit just puts him on par with the entire group of skaters that have been taking entire periods off lately. Ill start by saying I'm not a Tarasov believer but that said, it's hard to be a backup and play every couple weeks. I imagine it's that much harder being young and asked to do that and its why teams loved the McElhinney's of the league because you could ask them to do exactly that and get pretty solid results from itYeah that’s fair. I counted all 3 as goals that he should have had. Can forgive the first one if pressed, but certainly the 2nd and 3rd.If one bad goal against is some issue that cannot possibly be overcome in a game that the goalie otherwise stops more than he should have been expected to, then the team has much bigger issues. Tarasov has no business taking the blame for this loss.
Ottawa is capable of playing multiple style games which has shown to be beneficial lately. Used speed against us and grit against Detroit. This Columbus team is capable of the same when fresh but appears burnt out and is going through the late season growing pains Ottawa has for the past couple yearsI thought the team looked slow as shit for most of the game. Down 3-1, playing like they were up a couple goals.
Back to back, or not. Ottawa’s speed seemed to be “the difference”.
Schedule is brutalWe did it the 1st half of the season, that was more fun. Teams fading but they gotta find a way to finish strong
Watching Ottawa tonight I have them as being a dark horse in the Playoffs...they are gonna spoil someone's 1st round *looks at Florida with concern*Ottawa is capable of playing multiple style games which has shown to be beneficial lately. Tarasov is not good
If we lose it’s all on Evason, his obsession with scrubs like Kunin or ZAR while scratching much better offensive players is unexplainable to me
Ant idea who's available??
Which penalty was this? KJ on Giroux? Was terribly dumb/lazy.Dumb penalty to take
If I remember correctly it was Jenner with an interference penalty right in front of Ottawa's goalie. Not only it was unnecessary but Fantilli had a great scoring chance. Whistle blew but he hit the post or missed so his chance didn't matter in the endKorpis…ahhhh…nevermind…

Yeah, like if you're going to blame Tarasov for any of the goals against, then you should blame Ullmark even more for the goals he allowed (And he's not even mostly at fault for the ones he gave up). At least Tarasov allowed a rebound that had a chance to be cleared by the defencemen, whereas Ullmark gave a rebound directly to Jenner. If one bad goal against is some issue that cannot possibly be overcome in a game that the goalie otherwise stops more than he should have been expected to, then the team has much bigger issues. Well, I legit do hope the next two games between the Sens and BJs are 3 pointers. Anything to make life for the Rangers, Red Wings, and Habs harder. It strikes me as very funny that the Sportsnet broadcast said Tarasov was the Jackets best player tonight (and I've checked the xGAs, which back their viewpoint up), and yet you have much of the Jackets board blaming the loss on him.
Kuraly had ZAR and Kunin as his wing mates.Good? No. Our best option? Yes.
Is this referencing JVR, or Chinakhov also?
Kuraly is the real “scrub”, besides his faceoff ability.
Is Chinakhov really being “healthy scratched”? To add, JVR should be playing also, if healthy. I’m guessing both guys aren’t 100%.

Jackets have a real decision to make .. I think Elvis is bought out .. or traded with retention.. Tarasov, since January 1st , when our team actually started to play a little defense has actually been pretty good , yet I wouldn’t feel confident at this point relying on him and greaves next year . How the upgrade in goal will be interesting to watch this summerIt strikes me as very funny that the Sportsnet broadcast said Tarasov was the Jackets best player tonight (and I've checked the xGAs, which back their viewpoint up), and yet you have much of the Jackets board blaming the loss on him.
On the brightside I think our young guys are much better than theirs. Especially Detroit'sThe 2024-25 Jackets:
The defense isn’t great.
The goalies are subpar but not awful.
The offense scores (or doesn’t) in bunches.
In the last part of the season when good teams are playing more focused hockey, our best is often not nearly good enough.
Still, a big step forward.
We are lucky that the other teams battling for 8th aren’t looking good lately. On the plus side, that means we will be playing meaningful games into April which should help develop our young guys. Hooray. On the minus side, Detroit and Montreal will be playing meaningful games into April which should help develop their young guys.
