Simply put, Swayman has sucked this year. I was for the signing, too, I thought he was a potential franchise goalie. HAH, what a dope I am.....lol

I think that's more to do with the fact they wanted to distance themselves from the Lakers given they were identical color wise.

IIRC they originally got rid of them just as Gretzky came to town and switched to the more classic silver/black look.

I wouldn't totally buy this. Getting into a groove/finding a rhythm can be super important depending on the position in sports. I know starting pitchers are notorious for this. They miss most/all of spring training and then it takes them half the season to find their groove.

Goalies are a position built on routine and having your mind right. Swayman missed all of camp and the preseason which means he was essentially months behind.

He can have this excuse for this season since ultimately while he is a major issue, there's multiple other issues. He sure as hell won't be able to fall back on it next season.
