Post-Game Talk: GAME 71 - The Bruins wave the white flag - San Jose 3 BRUINS 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Should have challenged the offside, didn't, but that's just a distraction. The Bruins played like garbage, and it is testament to how weak the Sharks are and how solid Korpi was that this game was even 1-1 with less than 4 mins to go. The team is totally listless at the moment and fully deserved to lose.

But things are going well, in a sense, looking at the bigger picture. The Ducks and Pens are now within a point of the Bruins, and both are playing better hockey. Can count on them jumping ahead. Would like to say the same of Seattle but the are stumbling along so not sure. The Flyers have completely given up so nothing to hope for there. Good news also that no-one can possibly now argue with a straight face that these coaches have a clue what they're doing. I would keep one for continuity - probably Leach - plus Goalie Bob, and the rest can go. New faces, new vision, more smarts, sense and grit please. And Sweeney must surely be strongly getting the message that he still has a lot of work to do in the offseason to have any chance at all of turning the team straight back into a competitor.

It's difficult and tough to watch at present, no question, but some medicines can be tough to swallow and you simply have to hope that the bitter taste is going to be worth it and produce good results down the line.

He was there. To me, not much impact, but nothing outright bad either. You can see the speed, the challenge is in finding ways to use it effectively. Lost his footing a couple of times. Otherwise he didn't look out of place. Not too shabby. Give him some more reps and a chance to develop some sort of chemistry with his linemates and we'll see if he can make any progress.

Leach may be the worst of the lot......He must go.

There was no excuse not to challenge that offsides. The players aren't tanking, Andy Peeke gets hurt blocking a shot, Lauko gets into a fight with a much better fighter than him, players are still doing everything they can to win

If anybody on that team was listening to or had an ounce of respect for Sacco it's gone. He should stay out of the locker room and just let Leach and Kelly run the team until the end of the season. He should not get a coaching job ever again.

And yes I want a top 3 pick but the players don't care about that and neither should the coach.

I believe they (like me and many of my hockey buddies 80%) see this as a one year mess.

Script-wise they need to come away with door #2 the washer & dryer (their hockey version: a highly rated offensive center). The closer to 1 they get the better their chances. Door number 2 is pick 7 and 8. Anything below - they can get 6 or Betman lottery produces 1-3 that’s big for them.

I wonder if pasta is hoping to be a Bruins lifer or if he would want to move on in search of a Cup at some point. I don't see the Bruins being close anytime soon
They are adding one of the top pairs on D this off season. I know 20 % here think McAvoy suck but like I said they are in the minority

We couldn’t get 100 % to agree this is a Bruins message board

Everything I get as an insider is 63 coming back - he will be picking kids up at school next season not face timing from Florida how’d your day go and listen to your mother

Brad was prorated 28 G 35 A for the season ~ he’s still very good

They will add a couple of Minton, Poitras, Lysell etc

And a couple of UFA likely one good one

Bruins fans & media dreaming if they think they are bottoming out

How embarrassing if the Bruins (mistakenly) challenges the call on the ice and the goal is wiped out whereupon we see Neely doing this.....

For all of my nonchalance and laughter, I agree. You make a good case against "Forbort Abort" and the tank.

Keep the parking attendant and fire everyone else in that organization. If Sweeney is here making any draft picks this team is doomed . His evaluation of nhl caliber hockey players is nonexistent. The man has destroyed this team for the foreseeable future.

Showed some flashes of his talent. Definitely had an effort. Drew a penalty. He’s definitely shown just as much if not more than the other jags call ups and Beecher.

Negatives is he still wanders from his position. Caught him at least twice being all the way over to the otherside in the defensive zone battling along with his other winger. Offensively same thing but usually it’s a little more forgiving there, but it can mess with the cycle.

So not bad kind of expected needs more looks to see if he shakes out mistakes or at least outweighs them
