Post-Game Talk: GAME 70 - THE BEAR waits for the Red Sox season to start - Vegas 5 BRUINS 1

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Yeah he is. And a decent one, too. Lohrei is just green and is going to have nights like last night. He has been a bit poor of late, but so has the whole team. That's why I have trouble singling individuals out. When the whole team is subpar, its hard for anyone to look good that isn't on Pasta's line, and even Pasta was not great last night. Asking players to play above their level night in and night out is eventually going to end up looking like this at some point.

With Lohrei I also expect that he is simply exhausted. He's 24 years old, in his 2nd season, and has logged 65 games and 20 mins a night. That's a significant increase on his past workload, both in terms of games and the quality of opposition. I'd suggest he's really feeling it now, and fair enough. Hopefully like many others he'll be better for the offseason rest and come back refreshed and ready to step up another gear next year.

Even JvR over in Columbus was openly saying just the other day how that playing group is wearing out with all they've gone through this year and their limited roster. Not as an excuse, just an acknowledgement of reality. The NHL season is a tough business, quite possibly the hardest grind in world sports.

Excellent choice to trade at the draft for a late pick if another team sees potential for what we hoped for. Not this invisible, soft, and useless version of Kuraly. One of the bigger disappointments, as similar to Frederic it would be so easy to meet expectations.

The most annoying thing to me about Beecher is this - back in 2019 Sweeney refused/failed to use his 1st rounder to get Krejci a RW. The Bruins of course then fell agonizingly short of a Cup. Yes they still should have won, yes you can't say for certain that another forward would have ensured success, but it really would have helped. Regardless, Sweeney then went and used that 1st to select Beecher. Who is a nice kid but has turned out to be just a shade above useless.

So not only was the 1st not put to better use when it should have been, the error was compounded by it then being wasted at the draft. Which is not Johnny B's fault, but it does make it hurt that little bit more. The Bruins essentially got nothing out of keeping that pick.

I know, benefit of hindsight and all that, couldn't foresee Boston's path to the finals opening up so nicely, all picks require a good dose of luck, rah, rah, rah. I get it. But mistakes like these, however understandable, are what really hurt franchises and they can make a disproportionately big difference in separating success from failure.

Sucks to watch in real time but what needs to happen is happening. Just don’t whiff on the pick, Don.
This is where Draft Cat comes in. Draft Cat will draft our pick for us and will select a young, inexpensive roster-ready superstar. He never goes off the board and never misses.

Why I would always prefer to trade for roster players than picks.

That was the first game I haven't watched in years.....at least it looks like I didn't miss much. Despite subscribing to Center Ice it was blacked out in the Fresno area............apparently this is considered 'local' to Las Vegas despite being 400 plus miles away and in another State. LOL. If you're paying for a subscription service you should get EVERY SINGLE GAME, no matter which channel it's on and weather you live in Timbuktu or the parking lot of the arena.
I don't know how the NHL (or any league) gets away with charging FULL price for their product, and then imposing blackouts ..if it isn't illegal, it should be

They are ripping off sports fans willing to pay for the games ..and are basically forcing them to look for pirate streams

Lousy save %. Great slugging percentage. Maybe the Sox would take his contract off the B's hands.
Just looked it up - most saves ever by a Bruins goalie in a game? 54 of 57. Linus Ullmark. Goaltender Records - Regular Season | NHL Records
If he didn’t do so badly in the playoffs, I would say we gave up the wrong goalie. Very bad year for MBA Sway, but he had help. Hope he is better next year.
