This is exactly why I don't want Sacco and Co. back. Ultimately they had one job, get this group back on track defensively, and they failed. I don't want to hear about how Sacco was dealt a shit hand or whatever. Truth is, if they had hired a better coach back in November, they are likely still legitimately competing for a playoff spot and the trade deadline never happens. Granted, they still wouldn't be a strong team or a cup contender. So the end result might be the best thing, but that doesn't mean promoting Sacco last November was the right move.

My fear is Jay Leach is the alternative; I say a clean sweep in the coaching staff.

All available cap space needs to go to high end players on the market or saved for high end players to be dangled later by other teams. This forward group is pasta and a bunch of third/fourth liners. That’s being gracious about some. Beecher is maybe the most replaceable forward I’ve ever watched.

He's good on face-offs. His only redeeming quality. After the puck is dropped, he's constantly chasing as his hockey sense isn't NHL caliber.

I don't care what goalie is in net, they're getting lit up. Our top pair right now is Zadorov and Jokiharju. That's a 3rd pairing on a playoff team. Lohrei is a work in progress, Peeke is a 3rd pairing guy and Wotherspoon & Mitchell are #7's at best.

Its mind blowing to me how infatuated this board is with Swayman. Since February this offense ranks T-27th in goals scored and 27th in SOG. The defense has allowed the 12th most high danger chances and has the 7th highest expected goal against......but Swayman is the only person that is routinely talked about as being a problem lol.

If you look at this team since the start of February, Matt Poitras is T-5th in points among Bruins. A kid that hasn't played for the team in 2-3 weeks is 5th on your team in scoring over the last ~2 months. You want to look at goal scoring? Khusnutdinov has played 6 games for the team and he's T-5th in goals since February. You know who he's tied with? Cole FREAKIN Koepke, who scored his 2 goals in one game and those have been his only 2 points for the last 20 games.

I honestly believe ownership is clueless about how the fanbase feels. No team in the NHL does less for season ticket holders than Boston with the possible exception of Toronto.

Tough watching a team with one line & a bunch of 3rd/4th liners.

Feel Zacha could be moved to another line to try to spread out "depth". Geekie/Pasta chemistry is unreal tho. That's about all I got from last night.

Still blows my mind they've run pretty much the same lineup out the past couple weeks & it's been getting embarrassed.

When you play bad team D, doesn't matter who is in net (look at Ullmark's quick hook last night). It's pre-season out there, everyone scrambling, not knowing where they're supposed to be. I'm sorry but this is a poorly coached team. Can't teach talent, but structure/layers is another matter-the same mistakes in Game 1 happen in game 71.

Just shut Lindholm down. Whatever it is, he's cooked. Done. Let him rest, train, get settled in and hope he's not an anchor for the next handful of years.

Beecher too. The wheels have just fell off for whatever reason.

Mason L is regressing too. He needs a steady, structured, stay at home D-pair that he can grow into the pro game.

Agreed. He's someone with good size who skates well, but still doesn't seem to touch the puck much.

Yeah he is. And a decent one, too. Lohrei is just green and is going to have nights like last night. He has been a bit poor of late, but so has the whole team. That's why I have trouble singling individuals out. When the whole team is subpar, its hard for anyone to look good that isn't on Pasta's line, and even Pasta was not great last night. Asking players to play above their level night in and night out is eventually going to end up looking like this at some point.
