GDT: Game 70: St. Louis vs St. Louis - Tue, Mar 25, 8pm Edt. | TSN2, RDS, Victory+, Matrix-MW

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Here's the breakdown of Habs' total GF and GA by period:

1st Period: 59 GF / 69 GA
2nd Period: 72 GF / 75 GA
3rd Period: 70 GF / 75 GA

Overall, our numbers are mid-pack. Notable exception is the 1st period, where we give up the 7th most goals in the league. If it seems like the Habs are always fighting from behind, it's because it's true. The 1st period is their weakest.

Scary week! I know they control their own destiny but I think they’re going to need help (losses) from other teams to keep their spot.

Every game is gonna be a huge game from this point on. A game against another team fighting for their playoff lives.

Not sure I like the Montembeault start. I feel like he's been letting some weak goals in lately and the team has found ways to cover for him. I think he's given us a really good performance this season, but I think there's a mental fatigue coming into play now with all the games he's played.

Blues have won 6 straight and that is impressive but the teams they beat weren't exactly world beaters. Habs can win this game
At this time of the year it's often as hard to beat bottom teams than top teams. Top teams are in playoffs preparation mode and let's avoid injuries mode. Anyone who think Avs gave it all against us are delusional they played maybe 10 minutes.

Avs are riding a high and were steamrolling on that eastern trip. I mentioned in that GDT if the habs pushed the pace, they could back into that game because the avs were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights... but I didnt say that when it was 4-1 in the 3rd.

The Habs were just doing what they have done for a while.... blowing leads and overcoming defecits

But yes, I think some people are putting too much weight on schedule strength. The habs made their biggest push back in late December and January which was supposed bury them for the year.
