The PP has to be better . Could have put this one away with the 2 back to back PPs in the 3rd.
The seem pass from Glass to Tippett would work better if Tippett didn't fan on the one timer every 2nd time. The better teams will scout that and shut it down. This team needs to shoot when they have a chance to and crash the net.. vs Denmark they could do the globe trotter thing , but they need to keep it simple and out grind their opponent .. keep putting pucks on net , and hunt it down.

I agree - too many passed up opportunities to shoot. The swiss formed a box and hardly moved. The Canadians were too predictable.

I don’t get all the Comtois hate for the dives. You don’t like to see guys diving but when the games on the line, you have to do what’s necessary to win. If that means selling a play to get a penalty or a face off, then so be it. It’s a smart play, if you can do something to help your team then you should be doing it.

I’ve played sports a long time, sometimes you just have to do whatever is necessary to win. This is one of those times. Drawing and selling penalties is a skill, who cares how they drew the penalty.

I recognize that this post is going to get raked across the coals but I’m not going to discredit a player for doing what you need to do to win. Embellishment or not.

If he didn't throw out the dive last night in an 8-0 game then I don't think he would be getting as much hate as he is right now for it. Two dives in two games in a row is kind of annoying and I'm sure the refs will start watching for it sooner or later. Now when something actually happens late in an important game the ref is less likely to call it because of his history so far in this tournament. It's just unnecessary against Denmark and Switzerland.

Comtois is drawing penalties.

These are international games and teams have done the same thing to us for decades.

Sportsmanship is a thing. I am not one to encourage cheating, be it diving or purposely injuring an opposing player. But yeah, both help your team win after all...

Not worried. Still early in the tournament, and the Swiss always give us a game. Plus we had our backup in nets tonight. They'll be better on Saturday.

Grain of salt .. Hf .. I like Comtois... He plays really fn hard and makes a lot of good things happen. I'd want him on my team any day. If he embellishes a call here and there big deal. If he draws a penalty.. that's actually a good thing if he's playing on your team. There is a ton of embellishment that goes on all the time. There are weak calls almost every game. Its just part of it. If he gets a rep for doing it, he'll get called.

I mean, I agree with you but do it when it matters and not in games your team is looking like they will win. Like I said, it's just unnecessary so far.

Canadians defending diving because hes your captain. Hahaha, if it were Hughes you'd all be pissing and moaning.
