Well I sure am relieved to have gotten those two goals, we were in some trouble there for a good stretch.

I can't help but wonder if this defense group is good enough to get us gold though, they worry me.

I thought we played pretty well that period. Few mistakes here and there but controlled the play it seemed like.

The Swiss are a pesky, disciplined team as usual. They have a lot of guys with WJC experience.

I criticized him for it myself lol

It's pretty easy to see tho that a player gets a target on their back when they play for the Oilers. People will look for anything to knock that player with. You should know this as a Leafs fan. Your players get a **** ton of hate too

There is no target on the back. He just makes the same bone-headed gaffes every game. No denying his offensive ability. His decision making however needs to improve.

Depth showed up big time in the 2nd period through some uneven play. That huge glove save Scott made really changed the complexion of the game. Hoping for a more complete effort in the third.

What? No ****ing way. Subban looked like the Bobby Orr of Jr with his unbelievable skating and end to end rushes.

Bouchard doesn't seem to be such a good skater.
He's not elite at this point sure, but I think he's still a good skater. I've seen some nice rushes from him. Plus I was talking mainly about his excellent shooting and passing in the Ozone, and being unfortunately prone to brain farts. Great stretch pass too. Maybe not the perfect comparison, do you have a better one?

I don't think Veleno's been that bad, not great either but he's probably just a victim of Entwistle finding some chemistry with Studnicka and Bowers because the 4th line was pretty disjointed before today.
Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately, it doesn't really look like giving Veleno an extended shot on a scoring line is something Hunter is likely to do. Except maybe in terms of injury.

I would like to see Suzuki with Glass and Comtois. There seems to be chemistry with those three whenever they play together. I would like to see Brook with Bouchard. I think those two would balance each other out nicely.

The 1st PP unit needs to be more unpredictable. Glass has a good shot, he should shoot more. Tippett needs to hit on his on 1 timers, he might have a bad one timer which could be a problem. If the 1st unit is out there for most of the PP then Comtois should be the net front presence. Hayton is 5'11-6'0, Comtois is 6'2-6'3 easily.

The skill is obviously there, with the nature of this tournament you never know. Look at Gadjovich who started hot last year and then ultinultim got benched in favour of Steenbergen who potted the gold medal winning goal.
