Pre-Game Talk: Game 7 -- Sunday, 7:30pm EST

I really felt watching the game yesterday that florida was more conservative than they have been all series. They looked like they were waiting for the leafs to come at them hard. I expected they'd turn it on more than they did and take the game away.

I don't think they'll do that again.

Florida's path to victory in Game 7 probably looks like a dumb Verhaeghe or Reinhart goal off a partial rush, another lucky bounce and a 3-1, 3-2 all she wrote. It'll probably look and feel like their Edmonton Oilers Game 7 game.

I think Toronto's chance to win is a repeat of Game 3 bang bang start with a do over in net. Swarm them, never stop skating and close it out type deal.

They tilted the ice in the second but it never looked like they would ever score and never did. Credit to Matty for breaking through for the win. Now do it again or last night means nothing.
Yep, all they did yesterday was give themselves another opportunity to change the narrative around this team

They still have the ability to do something special but it means nothing if you don't grasp that chance with both hands

Odds are after 3 big games plus TB series they are now tiring. They went all the way last year. They ain't nervous, they are tired. Advantage Toronto. Reffing? Not so much.

Leafs media has to be some of the stupidest, most inept people around. Why in the world would you ask OEL - a guy playing on the Leafs in a game 7 against Florida tomorrow - how Florida as a team were able to gather themselves and put in a good performance in game 7 last year after losing 3 in a row and what it says about them.

Yea great question you socially inept mongrel, just try to force the guy to praise the team he used to be a part of and is playing in a game 7 tomorrow to talk about how great a team they are at winning game 7's. OEL handled the question well.

I don't think so, Florida played the same way they did in gm 4 and 5... The move their feet and working hard, close the neutral zone... the difference was leafs also moved their feet and stop waiting to see what's Florida will do... They dictacte the game like they did gm 1-2 and 1st 20 of gm 3.

Lorentz did the chip and run last night and got completely blocked off with no interference call. Now that the refs have set the bar, we can block their forwards off completely in the same way to shelter our D. Hope Berube took note.
Don't you remember Game 7 against Tampa? We try a pick play, we're getting called for it.

I think we're going to need a massive game from Woll tbh.

When the Leafs play their game, they're actually very difficult to beat. They keep everyone to the outside, block shots like crazy and their D-men clear the front of the net like no D the Leafs have had in the last 10 years. The issue is after that fluke Game 3 loss they stopped doing that and instead played scared and intimidated, which fed into Florida's game. But yesterday, they once again showed that if they want it back enough, they CAN shut Florida down.

Now all they have to do is do it one more time.

Said this before and will say it again they want to write their legacy? JT, Nylander, MM and AM need to all step up and play the game of their lives. It’s on home ice. We have last change.

We can go toe to toe with them. No excuses, it all comes down to are they gonna elevate and take it.
They have the chance of a lifetime to erase all of the years of falling short. Fans have short memories when they live in the moment and can see the defending Cup champs defeated in the second round. Watch their team reach the Final Four for the first time in over 20 years.

They need to play a simple committed game and the players need to keep their feet moving and play as if their lives depended on it. Their legacy has no limit if they win this single game because no team they face after will be as big a challenge physically.

The storyline behind the team would make it that much more compelling a victory.

Evilhomer

rip.
Heard he spontaneously combusted. Nearly took out the whole block.

Give it everything, fight until the end. If you lose to this team after giving everything there is no shame.
For this group, there is shame if they lose. I don't care if it's the defending cup champs, a round 2 exit is unacceptable.

Go all out, every single shift and dominate. The only acceptable outcome is a game 7 win. I don't care how they do it, win 10-9 or 1-0, just win.

Our team looks so banged up. Like even if we somehow get past Florida, I think Carolina is gonna dogwalk us.

So many players on our team looks injured. Carolina on the other hand is coasting. Washington didn't even physically punish them

I think Florida will win. I hope I am wrong and unlike some others here (looking at evil homer predicting leafs in 5 ;) ) I'll happily admit I was wrong in my prediction.

Btw I also predicted Leafs in 5 so I was wrong there. Hopefully can be wrong tomorrow about this too

Beating Marchand in the playoffs

Beating Florida in the playoffs

Winning a game 7

Winning a playoff game with McCauley as the ref

Getting past the second round

How many more demons can the leafs exorcise tomorrow night?
