Pre-Game Talk: Game 7 -- Sunday, 7:30pm EST

I'm honestly glad the Leafs don't have to play a game in Florida again no matter what happens now. I'm not sure if it's omen or something but that's honestly such a hard building to win in which makes last night's win even more impressive.

They're a good team and all, but getting constant Power Plays and more PP chances than the opposition despite not being the cleanest team has to give them a bigger boost than anything their fans do.

Win as a team, lose as a team. Hope they bring the same game tomorrow night. Hope Knies is ok, hope Woll doesn’t have some surprise injury.

They can do this, and if they do, it will cement things as truly different this time.

I think they are due, if there is even such a thing. They are all big boys now, except Knies. They have gone through the pain of losing games 7s at home and on the road when they were younger. Now it's their time.

You can say what you want, but I'll still be pretty satisfied with the Leafs season + playoffs if they beat FLA and lose to CAR (as long as they're competitive against the Canes and take at least a couple of games). I can't stand OTT and FLA and beating both of those teams would so f***ing sweet. I never realistically expected a Cup win or SCF appearance heading into this season. Improving to 5-0 against OTT in the playoffs, ending the Game Seven drought and knocking out the Cup Champions would be the best playoff run for this team in ages (and as much as people glorify some teams from the 90s and 00s, it's not like they ever really did any better, assuming TOR puts up a decent enough fight against CAR).

There's really no rivalry with CAR. They're a good, well-coached team. I don't enjoy watching them or like their style, but they tend to dominate possession and work hard. If the Leafs beat FLA, I expect them to be outshot in every game or almost every game by CAR and to spend a lot of time in their own end. We'll see how good their defense really is. They'll need to convert on rush chances at a high clip in that series.

Depends how they look/play. You want to be over the low effort, deer in headlights play.

Yea, but when do you expect them to make the SCF? They are all big boys now, except for Knies. Nylander is 29. Marner is 28, Matthews is 27. They are not a young team anymore. I won't be satisfied with just a ECF appearance. May as well go all the way.

Go out hard get the lead. Play with confidence and make Woll feel confident.

They need a first period like the one they had in Game One against FLA. The one last night was good for a road game, but they need to score in the first tomorrow. Having zero first and second period goals in the last three games is not good.

Honestly, I'm still not convinced they can win it all or get to the Cup Final with this group. I do think they can win during the Matthews era, but they may need to let Marner and/or JT walk and do some re-construction before they can win.

Maybe beating FLA in the second round is the ceiling for the so-called Core Four. If so, that has to be considered disappointing considering what the expectations were eight years ago, but a lot of cores don't even accomplish that much (BUF couldn't even make the playoffs with the Eichel/Reinhart core).

Hate to remind you all but if the Leafs are really going to exercise the demons they need to play with a good lead into the third period, proceed to blow the lead and then win it either coming from behind in the third, or in OT.

I see what you're saying, I agree. We're gonna see right now if this group can win or not. These games will give us the proof one way or another. Winning game 7 would be a huge step.

No. I will take a comfortable win over any of that, thanks
You don't exercise demons with a comfortable walk on the beach in pleasant weather.

It's a screaming, vomiting, cursing , blasphemous near catastrophe where you're praying to all that holy and hanging on for dear life.

Hopefully Crapbrovsky has arrived again. Leafs need the first goal in Game 7. It will be tense and the fans will be quiet with fear.

That crowd should be roaring right off the hop.

Knies being injured won't help though.

Minimal requirement: Don't get your ass handed to you to the point where it looks like a fire drill is taking place in the 2nd period.

Give the folks who spent their money something to remember.
