Does anyone else forget that Joe Veleno is on the team for long stretches of time?
It wasn't always pretty but I'll take it.
Also, has to be pointed out that NJ couldn't beat us at even strength. I get that we look desperate at times, and it looks bad to get doubled up in shots, but we keep winning the game at even strength we'll rack up a fair number of wins this year.

Honestly I noticed Veleno several times tonight but it was because he was repeatedly getting schooled by Tatar.
I thought this was maybe his worst game of the season. I thought he has had his strongest start in his career, though. Might not be putting up points but he's been noticeable.

I'd like to see him get angry and show that emotion and get in ppl's faces on most nights vs non 5'8 guys . Those are the kind of players we'll need in the playoffs to win

Once again, we are atrocious, cannot sustain pressure for any length of time or kill a penalty to save our lives. But with both goalies playing out of their minds and some timely breaks we escape with a win yet again. I don't see this model continuing much longer.

At least they figured something out on the PP. Play Kane up top, put worthless Gus over on the flank and never pass to him, basically ignoring him.
Seriously though, the special teams units all have to get WAY better, PP mostly sucks, and PK is getting cooked.
