If there was any game I wanted reaves to play and maybe have set his own career high in ATOI it would be this game

I am so sick of watching Langenbrunner to be honest. He is slow fire checking and back checking, can't hold the puck to save his life, and just really isn't effective at all.

I don't mind giving some players some rest against weaker teams. It will pay off in the long run. If Dags plays tomorrow, Langs better be on the bench.

I remember starting a thread last season about how we do not need langs and he really didnt fit on the team. Everybody told me I was wrong, it took you guys long enough to agree with me...

He wasn't like this last year.

Do you forget he's an older player and every year impacts him negatively? The lockout didn't help him either.

He didnt fit on the team last year either, the only difference is this year they have other people to play last year they did not.

Definitely will be a tougher game than it has been recently, but they're having troubles scoring and the Blues are pretty good at keeping the puck out of their own net. I expect a good effort after the rest days

Langs played solid for what he was needed to do last year. He obviously wasn't stellar, hes here for his leadership and experience, not to finish on top for points.

Jackets fan coming in peace

Yes that's right, Atkinson is injured. Rumored to be a high ankle sprain as well. Which is bad bad news for us; he's one of the few guys on the team with legitimate top 6 talent.

Any lineup changes for you guys?

The only thing that ever changes for us (other than injuries) is swapping in and out with Reaves, Nichol, Langenbrunner and D'agostini.

Good luck tonight, expecting a good game!

I agree, in the limited looks at him so far...and reading into the fact that he's not on the opening day line-up, he's lost a step from what was already starting to be a decline in his speed.

His hockey sense won't go away, but he's looking about Arnott's speed now. I'm still hopeful that he can be productive in a limited role this season, but at this point he is going to have to fight his way onto the 4th line.

The Reaves love on here is admirable, but there are still tools that Langenbrunner (or even Porter) have which Reaves doesn't have. There will be match-ups where it makes less sense to play Reaves.

The tough guy to figure is D'Agostini. He has a hard time gelling on the 4th line, and not quite good enough (at this point) for a top 9 role. I'm not sure what to read into Schwartz sitting out much more than the fact that Sobotka is playing really well and deserves more minutes right now. I think its more about Sobotka and less about Schwartz, just Schwartz is the obvious choice. Also, as a rookie, Schwartz would benefit from thinning out the schedule a bit and not having to play every single game. Must suck for D'Agostini though, to see Sobotka move up and Langenbrunner in, and he still sits. I sure hope he's getting motivated and not sulking. I was a little disappointed that he didn't show more in his start last week. It was an opportunity to show the coaches they were wrong to sit him, but he didn't really do that.

Well, no, Sobotka is moving up to Schwartz's spot tonight (according to JR) as a reward for his great play of late. I think Schwartz is a scratch tonight if Langenbrunner is playing.

I like Sobtoka but not on a scoring line and definitely not with our most questionable goal scorers. I expect that lineup to look a little lost tonight.

anybody know a good stream online with decent quality? I being at miami university cannot get the game on gamecenter because it's blacked out. thanks. Also, I work with the team here so i'm at basically every practice and game, I know none of our specs are on Miami but if u guys want any scouting reports or whatever on any of our players just lemme know. Also Alex Wideman from st. louis is on our team.
