Lol, "distinct kicking motion" is an absolute joke. If that's a kick, just make the rule that the puck must be hit into the goal with a stick and be done with it - the calls for the current rule are consistently nonsensical.

The spirit of the rule is to avoid injury.

Players skate. A kicking motion should mean you artificially moved a skate forward to propel the puck towards the net faster.

Meaning, if your forward motion to change the angle of your skate stops before the puck makes an impact, you aren’t kicking it in.

That’s what I saw, and why I think it’s a shit call. There was no propulsion
