Sure Jones needs a chance to prove himself, but he gets to do so with Coyle primarily because the coach is looking for solutions.

That much I agree with - the Bruins have no 2nd and 3rd line in the conventional sense. They barely have a formal 1st line. Rather there is a middle 6 of moving parts that is far from being settled. But Coyle is the nominal 2C and my basic argument doesn't change - Jones isn't playing with him just for reps. Monty is looking for any combination that might generate any sort of sustained good play and offense.
