  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Habs were thoroughly outplayed in that period and didn't weather the storm.

If they push the tempo though, they might get back into this one because the avs are playing 3 games in 4 nights..

I also didn't like that first goal. There was a pretty balatant pick that caused the 3 on 2.

Arber is not to blame on both goals. He suffering for his bad d partner.

Something tells me that Hughes and Cie paint themselves in the corner. By buying Suzuki demand. By not moving. The whole deal is that we are a team, and good enough to make it together. Sitting Savard, unfortunately, isn't based on that.
GM made a rookie mistake limiting his options with Suzuki. He’ll learn.

I like Monty. I'm fine with it. BUT the whole TVA/RDS schtick to defend every franco player and bash non-francos...i'm f***ing tired of it....

Lapierre with the ''yeah, Monty should have stopped that BUT you can't leave a guy that talented alone (Lindgren). Yeah Monty should have stopped that but there was no pressure on the guy who slapped that one....

Tabarnak...that's what top goalies do every single day for their team. Save their ass when they make mistakes.

Recency bias. Engstrom wouldn't be able to follow that pace either. Him scoring a highlight doesn't change that. Nobody from the Rocket could help right now. Reason why we had to make a move as small as it was.
Recency bias? Look, I respect you... but clearly you don't think the same about me. I judge things on more then recent events. Not to mention, I don't think his goal was as big of a highlight as you're implying.

My statement was simply that Engstrom can contribute every night, Reinbacher can't right now. If we call someone up, it should be him.

I think Savard has been garbage of late. But I'd just really limit his minutes outside of the PK.

Dobes let in some softies his last start too. Their stats aren't that much different. It's really not a big deal who starts, it's not going to change things much.
Dobes is 0.875 in his last five game, I agree that one or the other right now is more of the same. But as other have said, might have been good to let Montembeault rest and recharge.

Someone called Lindgren talented and they weren't immediately fired ?

Agreed. One of the things I hoped for was the boys would come out with a quick start. I knew the AV's were going to come out hard. We didn't look prepared.

The habs were overwhelmed by a faster better team, it sucks, good thing is this team won't quit, here's hoping they make a game of it.

I don't think they aren't trying or this was them not prepared to start, the AVS just jumped on them and had them spinning a bit.

We're still very much punching above our weight class. I'm not worried with however this game plays out, they've given us plenty leading us here.

Season won't hinge on tonight.

I liked Anderson and arber making some hits. They need to do more of that in the 2nd. I'd like to see some of the others who can lay the body too. Struble? Slaf?

Reinbacher would help this team so much right now. God knows why they don't bring him up.
That’s what KH told me the other day. I freaked out - seriously, Kent, I said. I told him not to even think about it. I explainified that: 1) The AHL isn’t the NHL. No matter how good he looks down there, it won’t translate the same up here. 2) DR hasn't even played a full season in the AHL, yet, In fact only 19 freaking games. And 3) he’s not fully recovered yet. He can’t even handle every game in the AHL - why risk getting hurt against NHL guys? Thankfully, he listened.

We actually had a good first 3-4 shifts...

Even Avs player interviewed at intermission spoke to it (how they weathered the initial storm, got a big save, then responded by matching the physicality the Habs started the game with)... ditto the broadcasters, speaking to the first 3-4 min where the Avs "let the Habs carry the play".

It was a bad, very bad, 5-10 minutes after that where we just couldn't match their counter punch. PP helped settle us down and we finished the period well.

Can't have those lapses against great teams.

I love Slaf, but sometimes I wish I could cuff him in the back of the head lol
LOL THATs for sure
Especially since I consider him my first born, and put all the weight of expectations on him and he'll secretly resent me when he's middle aged
Where as my 2nd born Demidov can do no wrong and I buy him all the toys cuz he's my lil baby boy
