Were any Av's players spotted at the Montreal clubs last night?

The WC race is real, regardless of tonight's outcome. I think it comes down to either Montreal or NYI for the final spot, assuming none of the 'in the mix' teams falls apart.

We match up well against Florida, so I still think tonight will be our toughest game, along with the last Ottawa game in April.

The race is as real as it gets, but I'm not ready to write off any of the teams involved. At the 4 nations break, it was Columbus and Detroit holding the wildcards and they were both around 7 or 8 games over 500. Montreal went into the break on a massive cold streak and looked like they were out of it.

Fast forward a few weeks, and the wild card standings have turned upside down. But that's just one example. The wild card hunt has been topsy turvy for many of these teams, and there's still runway for it to happen again.

I think it was always the plan to play dobes. Not sure i have alot of faith in either goalie right now but hopefully the team infront of him can keep things tidy around his net.

He's the starter, it's crunch time, playing a top opponent, not a back to back game... pretty understandable that they are going back to him.

Hopefully he's reset mentally and ready for a big performance.

Sometimes Marty is so f***ing stubborn. People suggest Monty has been bad and needs a rest, and he's treating it like some vendetta that he has to prove wrong so Monty starts cause "now isn't the time to send a message" except playing your back up once every 10 days is common practice and not a message and never has been.

Ridiculous decision. Clearly Monty is overplayed, he was awful the last two games and Dobes already owned the Avs this year. Marty is just a terrible game manager.

I'm not suggesting Monty shouldn't be the clear #1, but you need to pick your spots too. Even with dobes on the squad for over 2 months now, monty is still only 3 starts away from being the most used goalie in the nhl... the names ahead of him are sorokin, vasilevsky. Hellebyuck, and shesterkin.


He responded well to rest before, and this was an opportunity to rest him for 4 days before the schedule starts squeezing them again.
