The lines, ugh. Meier being used as a third liner is so stupid. So is smith in over Bahl.
It makes some sense from the team perspective.

The top line is dominating so you can’t touch it.

Hughes and Meier both want the puck on their stick a lot and appeared to have trouble with deferring to the other instead of playing their normal game.

So let Hughes and Meier go back to lines where they consider themselves “the guy” and you can always put them back together later when Meier is more integrated with the team.

Playing on the third line seems a sure way to encourage Timo to re-sign....
Come on man…

I have no problem putting Meier with Haula and Boqvist. Haula and Boq have played good lately, they work hard along the boards and can feed Meier. I think it could work.

Nicos line is doing really well so you can’t alter it right no but I think at some point you’ll see the fits as Nico-Meier and Hughes-Bratt and then you fill in the other winger on those lines. But for now since you can’t touch that Nico line separating Jack and Timo makes sense (and these lines are how they ended the Tampa game)

For the power play I think they should move bratt to bumper and Timo to the right half wall

I remember being told that Timo would never play without Hughes or Hischier (when healthy).

Jack isn’t gonna be Stupid Ass Jack and he’s gonna have himself a big game tonight. And to all the Panthers that will be chasing him into the zone tonight:

Also the day people stop finally putting stock into the line number players are on will be a joyous day indeed.

I won't be watching this one until later tonight/tomorrow morning cause the Red Bulls are at home tonight but I'm expecting to be watching a regulation win.

That is how I feel. I like that they are giving these lines that finished the other nights game another go. Gotta keep the hischier line together still at this point. Then Palat going up should provide a simple, grinding compliment to Hughes and Bratt offensively, plus hopefully be a boost on the defensive side.

Florida is in that WC battle where every point down the stretch is critical. Always a tough matchup and their offensive depth now that they are healthy is as good as anyone IMO. Would be a nice one for NJ to come out on top with a W.

I like the lines. Sharks fans said that Meier can create chances and drive play on his own, maybe having him and Hughes on the same line is counterproductive. You keep the first line in tact, then you have Jack & Meier that can dictate play on their own lines. We can at least see if it works, still have some time here in the season to try things out.

But Jack & Timo wasn't working well. Maybe Nico & Timo have better chemistry but like others have said, you can't break up that top line now

My suggestion to you is to look at the final score at NHL.com before you watch.

Trust me....It's more enjoyable when you know the end-result is a Devils win.

If it's not a win, just watch the goals(highlights) that were scored by the Devils and call it a night.

Don't like those lines. Swap Mercer for Bratt on PP1. Get a righty in there. Bratt is bringing nothing to the PP right now.

Tatar is slowing down and Nico had obvious chemistry with Meier ... So try:

Meier - Hischier - Mercer
Tatar - Haula - Boqvist

No chance of that ever happening, honestly can't even remember the last Devils game I haven't watched. I don't have any alerts score wise and I just don't go on anything hockey related and just watch the game on the dvr when I get a chance.

I personally don't find it difficult to avoid the score.

Expecting nothing from this game out of the NJD. Hopefully Mack Black is in since he has refused to lose to FLA a couple times in Miami. When was the last time the NJD had an easy win in Miami? FLA is a tough to beat and very well coached team by Paul Mo and put up 9 on a MTL team that the NJD were barely able to beat last weekend. The NJD so often treat these trips to FLA as a vacation and not a business trip. And you know the players went out on the town with coach Brunette to the local watering hole where he got the DUI. Don’t be surprised if we hear in the morning that one of the NJD players got a DUI tonight in Miami. Maybe in a golf cart. I expect the hangovers to last well into tomorrow night’s game. I put up $50 before the season started on FLA to win the cup and I still believe odds are high of it happening.

7-1 FLA
The last time we beat them in Miami was in the late 90s before they moved to Ft. Lauderdale lol

I wonder if any bad blood will spill over from the last 2 times we played them earlier this season. Florida is a few points out of the 8th seed so I'm expecting this to be a tough one.
