Curse of the Mike Smith butt goal.Well, I'll take Buffalo scoring on their own net...
Your diet is seemingly questionable.Sorry.... had to make a Sonic run..... Thursday BOGO on footlong coneys
but a nice and needed win.Maybe the Sabres more cursed than AZ/Utah?
My current gain in weight is too.Your diet is seemingly questionable.
You mean Winnipeg/Arizona/Utah...this is their 3rd location. I think only NJ has had three locations in the modern era, Kansas City Scouts/Colorado Rockies/New Jersey Devils? Billy Armstrong has them on the right path now though!Maybe the Sabres more cursed than AZ/Utah?
The role of guys like Liam O'brien are going extinct in the NHL for good reason. If you're a "fighter" you have to be able to do other stuff on the ice to stick now. The guy is a liability. Every time Liam O'brien is on the ice I am scared the other team is going to score. He flat out sucks imo and should not be touching NHL ice. I don't care if he is a "culture guy". We got other guys for that. He can go bring up the culture in Tucson where he belongs at this point. Now your just making excuses. O'Brien plays an entirely different role on the roster and you know it.
I get it.... you've got a thing for Maccelli. FWIW I like him too. I actually hope he plays his way back to the regular lineup, But that's all on him.
No, I have Fubo, but still they don't have all the games. I'll hang onto to my buck, for now. Like they say, take care of your pennies ---------.Jakey must have spent a buck and bought the stream for the rest of the year.....![]()
I agree, but then why was Crouse only out for one game?Doesn't matter how much talent you have.... you play like crap you sit until you get another opportunity.
It's hard. The team that goes on a little winning streak gets in. This win 2, lose 1 won't cut it.Can't seem to make any headway on one of those Wildcard spots.
I agree. Utah is 20th in GF. Not sure what is going on with Maccelli and AT, but it's the coaches responsibility to put players into a position to succeed, and that has not been the case with Crouse or Maccelli this year. The role of guys like Liam O'brien are going extinct in the NHL for good reason. If you're a "fighter" you have to be able to do other stuff on the ice to stick now. The guy is a liability. Every time Liam O'brien is on the ice I am scared the other team is going to score. Maccelli is a player who has vision at an elite level in the NHL, but yet was sat for how many games straight because the coaching staff has something out on him. If this guy was on the right line / team he could easily score a ppg. His vision is on Keller's level, if not better. He should be getting legit PP minutes as well, where he can really flourish. This team has grossly misused him this year and I hate seeing it. This is a player who should be a big part of this teams future imo, but will probably be let go for nothing and will end up flourishing elsewhere. I honestly think this could be because he is not one of "Bill's guys" and wasn't drafted by him.
Maccelli in his limited minutes was one of the best players on our team last night imo. He could have easily had 3 pts. And technically O'brien and Maccelli are playing the same "role" as fourth liners. One just skates around like a wild mule, losing fights, and trying to lay big hits while going out of position. All while putting up 2 assists in 27 games! If O'brien played in Toronto or Vancouver he would have been run out of town by now. I really don't know how he has lasted this long in the National.
I knew this argument was going to come up. Kevin Stenlund is a -12, does that mean LOB is a better defensive player because he is a +1? this is a meaningless stat in my eyes.LOB is a plus +1
Maccelli s issue earlier in the year was that he consistently gave the puck away , tried to do too much , like stick handle through a barrage of defenders , only to lose the puck which ended up in our net.
The other thing in my opinion, which gave MM confidence was power play ice time ..
Last year we had 2 legit power play lines .. in fact there were times , that I knew MM was going to set up a goal once the first unit left.
I don’t know why but this year AT has the first unit playing 1:46 so that the second unit has 15 seconds left. I would love to see the second unit with MM get at least a minute consistently.
Hopefully MM gets his confidence and stays up. His passing last night seemed way more crisp, and accurate then the others in my opinion
You make good points, but don't forget Schmaltz and Sergi are vets and have proved them self over the years, where Cooley is basically a rookie. I have no idea why MM is receiving this treat as sell. Maybe it goes a little deeper.I knew this argument was going to come up. Kevin Stenlund is a -12, does that mean LOB is a better defensive player because he is a +1? this is a meaningless stat in my eyes.
A player like MM can't be buried on the fourth line or play 10 mins a night to get into a groove. Give the guy some more leeway. I understand he wasn't great earlier this year, but neither was a guy like Nick Schmaltz, but yet nothing ever happened to him. I seen him make many careless plays with the puck. Same with Keller even, but not as bad.
Another example where this coaching staff is hypocritical is with Sergachev and Cooley. Cooley took a bad retaliation penalty and was benched for it earlier this year. well, Sergachev took not just one, but two stupid retaliation penalties this year that I have seen, and nothing happened to him. He was out for his next shift in both cases. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me. I still don't think this coaching staff is good enough to get us over the hump and a change will have to be made eventually for us to get to that next level.
