GDT: GAME 68 | AVS @ SENS | One Foot In Front Of The Other - Avalanche, Matt Good | You Made Me Turn This Into A GDT Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
If Hamonic was a callup , he would be sent down immediately..

Jensen coming back soon

Good. That is a big help defensively. I don't even mind Hamonic that much on the 3rd pair only or when there's an injury. Finding it painful however, that he keeps being elevated to be with Sandy or Chabot when their partner is out. Like try someone else already that may be able to manage the minutes better.

also why do people choose to forget the bad display against Chicago and the horrrribke display against Montreal at home right before the trade deadline. They’ve been playing like ass for a long time

not so certain at this point,

We could be stuck with 1 top 4 D pair maybe if Zub is ok again.. 1 injury on the top 4 ,,, elevate Hamonic, sink that pair but play them 20+

I'm going to be real with your guys.

I really need the Sens to make the playoffs here.
It was clear as day that we wouldn't make them once all the "easiest schedule" talk took over.

What a bunch of bullshit stats nonsense. Our odds dropped by 7% last night, when losing one game drops a percentage by that much, the percentage doesn't actually mean anything.

Yet another example of why making gambling part of everything in life is brutal.

Something more important than cash is being gambled here, my sanity.

I'm going to have to start watching lacrosse or something if we miss this year.

It happens to everyone.

Annoying, but it happens. I'm more worried about another losing streak than just this game.
So, you don't want to show the players what they did wrong and must correct ? Only show them games where they did things right? So there is nothing to learn?

👀

Goals against per gameExpected goals against per 60High danger chances allowed per 60
Before March 12.89 (9th)2.85 (9th)10.63 (9th)
Since March 13.20 (19th)3.21 (27th)11.78 (24th)

So, we're comparing a very small sample, 10 games. The reality is 2 games drive those numbers. the game against the Redwings and the game against Mtl, removed we are basically the same as the season average. A larger sample, and those two outliers impact likely plummets.

That said, we were awful those games, no excuses.

I just hope we don’t lose 6 in a row now. We seem to go on these wild swings like win 5 or 6 games, then lose the next 5 or 6.

Seeing highlights man we gave them so much respect. Like no physical contact whatsoever. The only time we hit makar was zub and he dislodged him from the puck and we generated a shot on net

Idk if highlights are the best way to judge the vague concept of respect... Highlights tend to focus on offense, and often cut out much of the scrums and such.

I don't think we were particularly physically imposing, but the game did match our 10th most hits in the season.

I'm sure you'll brush that off with something along the lines of 'but none of those hits count because they were all soft' reality is probably closer to it being a pretty typical game

I also watched the game myself. We played scared of makar and MacKinnon. And obviously they were scared. But we don’t even go down fighting. It’s like oh well here comes mackinon got gov whom his space.

Heres something interesting, Makar took 2 hits that game, and has only taken 39 hits the entire season, MacKinnon took one and has been 62 times all year.

Expectations, realistic ones, are something fans have a really hard time with, especially after a loss...

When the whole class gets a 55 on the test that doesn’t make my 51 look better. I still didn’t do enough.
