They asked him on the CIH pod, he said he just likes to pass more.
And the opposing teams all know this

Partly luck - I certainly don't think he has genuine 17% shooting talent. How did this guy get 35 goals 2 years ago?
"Cherchez la injury".How did this guy get 35 goals 2 years ago?
I would have guessed we would have brought it to OT at the least. This was a blowout. Not sure why this team goes to sleep at times.I had guessed 5-2. There was never any chance of winning this game. Like...zero chance
I bet we don't have a game this bad again during the regular season.
*googles monkey's paw*Now that's a real monkey's paw comment

I pvred this and before starting i thought i will be stunned if we win this and overjoyed with a point, but they'll beat us handily. Top 3 forwards in the world, top dman in the world coming off a tough loss. We were f***edI would have guessed we would have brought it to OT at the least. This was a blowout. Good lord. What have I done.Just means you will be correct but in a way that results in even more dire consequences.
Dramatic irony and all that. Be careful what you wish for.
Colorado has tons of speed. Same reason why we struggle against Montreal. Caps are not the greatest skating team. How tf do we stay so competitive against an elite team like Washington, but then another team (not as elite but has elite players) like Colorado utterly embarrasses us?
Also, Staios needs to get a 3RD that can step up onto the 2nd pairing in the off season. Hamonic is so utterly trash when he's above the 3rd pairing and brings down his partners.
Okay but that’s kinda stutzle lol. This isn’t a surprising stat. That’s what he is.Stutzle has 2 shots on goal over the last 6 games.
I'm talking a Batherson-esque deal, not a "you're a superstar getting paid like one so produce like one deal". His game has evolved - he is a complementary offensive producer and plays a 200' defensive game. Holding his history from a 5 - 10yrs ago up as proof he's mentally fragile now is pretty narrow minded, imo.Well I wouldn’t do that.
He’s struggled mentally and on a team with not much offensive talent he will be counted on and that comes with fan expectation. Hes shown he legit can’t handle that and needs prolonged time off when he’s expected to contribute in any significant way.
Hes a complementary offensive producer on the Avalanche. Hes likely the most talented offensive forward on our team. Whether he’s paid 1 million or 15 million he will end up being counted on.I'm talking a Batherson-esque deal, not a "you're a superstar getting paid like one so produce like one deal". Zetterlund was our only lively forward last night. And that continued into the third periodI shut it off at 4-0 so I missed Zetterlunds opportunities in the top 6.
How'd Zetterlund do when elevated to play with Stutzle and Tkachuk. 5v5 over twice as much time (7:39 w Stutzle) with them as with Gaudette and Highmore
He also had probably 3-4 shifts with Cozens and Batherson
Did he look like he was ready to break out with them?
Any good looks 5v5?
lively huh?Zetterlund was our only lively forward last night. And that continued into the third period
Goals against per game | Expected goals against per 60 | High danger chances allowed per 60 | |
Before March 1 | 2.89 (9th) | 2.85 (9th) | 10.63 (9th) |
Since March 1 | 3.20 (19th) | 3.21 (27th) | 11.78 (24th) |
Since March 1, the Senators had gone 7-1-1 before Colorado’s onslaught. Ottawa had been giving up three goals against per game this month entering play Thursday. In the first five months of the season they were allowing 2.76 goals per game.
Meanwhile, despite Ullmark’s outstanding heroics in a couple of recent games, most notably his 48-save performance against Detroit, his numbers have otherwise been average. Ullmark has a .889 save percentage, 3.55 goals against average and a negative-2.55 goals save above expected, according to Natural Stat Trick, since the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
One player who benefited from the poor start against the Avalanche was newly acquired Fabian Zetterlund, who got his first chance to play with Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle. Zetterlund had multiple chances in his elevated role but couldn’t connect. What will be interesting to see is what sticks now that Green has brought out the blender with line combinations.
The difference in Sh% two years ago to this year would have made a 4 goal difference, it's definitely the drop in shots that's the bigger culprit.Partly luck - I certainly don't think he has genuine 17% shooting talent.
But the biggest issue is that his attempts have plummeted. In his 39 goal season Stutzle attempted 442 shots in 78 games, which is 5.67 per game. This season he's at 265 attempts in 68 games, or 3.89 per game. That's more than a 30% drop.
Maybe the worst Sens player of this century in terms of how many minutes of absolute shit hockey he played for us.
