Very lovely defensive game. Only 19 shots allowed. Canucks looked frustrated at the end that they couldn't enter the zone.
The team you just beat have missed their best player for 1/4 of the season and starting goalie for 3/4 of the season. Every team gets injuries most years. It's a long tough season, good to be in the hunt.I can only imagine we would be comfortably in a playoff spot right now if we weren't so dedicated with injuries on the back end early on this season
True, but the goalie the Canucks had in net tonight is having a better year statistically wise than Demko. The team you just beat have missed their best player for 1/4 of the season and starting goalie for 3/4 of the season. Wonder if Demko being hurt fir basically 2 years has anything to do with that??? Who do you think Vancouver would rather have healthy and playing?True, but the goalie the Canucks had in net tonight is having a better year statistically wise than Demko.
I agree, the team D was really good without mistakes, if that continues, our playoff hopes get much better.Very lovely defensive game. Only 19 shots allowed. Canucks looked frustrated at the end that they couldn't enter the zone.
If one looks at the league standings, it is the teams with lowest in goals allowed at the top and teams with most goals allowed at the bottom. Gotta have decent scoring and very good D to get it done.I agree, the team D was really good without mistakes, if that continues, our playoff hopes get much better.
Wow, I would never have thought to look at that stat.If one looks at the league standings, it is the teams with lowest in goals allowed at the top and teams with most goals allowed at the bottom. Gotta have decent scoring and very good D to get it done.
There's more to this game than TOI.......Wow, I would never have thought to look at that stat.![]()
Like mistakes that wind up in your netThere's more to this game than TOI.......![]()
Very subjective, it depends on where you make them and what the cost is for the mistake. Sergi makes more of them then Marino does but Marino isn't thinking about scoring as much either and doesn't contribute like Sergi does in that area.Mistakes are too subjective but would be an interesting stat. Much like when they say high risk play, risk is subjective and everyone has a different risk level lol remember when seat belt laws came into effect
I didn't say there wasn't. But it is a very good indicator what the coaches think of such player. There's more to this game than TOI.......![]()
EVERY goal is a result of a mistake. You just cherry pick the ones you want to talk about.Like mistakes that wind up in your net![]()
Exactly, so who would you rather have on your team, the defensive minded Marino or the offensive minded Sergi? Pick one.Very subjective, it depends on where you make them and what the cost is for the mistake. Every goal isn't a result of a mistake, thats nonsense.EVERY goal is a result of a mistake. You just cherry pick the ones you want to talk about.
Sergi is a 2D, Marino is a 3/4D so obviously Sergi is worth more.Exactly, so who would you rather have on your team, the defensive minded Marino or the offensive minded Sergi? Pick one.
TOI is a good indicator of which players are better then the other players the coach has to choose from. The emergence of Cooley/Gunts has affected the TOI and situational use of Crouse/Maccelli. You can't compare the TOI of Sergi with a player from another team.I didn't say there wasn't. But it is a very good indicator what the coaches think of such player.
We get it. You don't think Sergi is a 1D. You don't have to go out of your way anymore to tell us.Sergi is a 2D, Marino is a 3/4D so obviously Sergi is worth more.
I know, obvious. My point , I guess, is that this team hasnt been built to play great D ( at least to this point) and therefore, we get what we get.Wow, I would never have thought to look at that stat.![]()
