That's how I see it. We're right where I thought we'd be. Fighting for a spot on the outside of the bubble. Guys get to play in some meaningful games and that's good for development.

Next year it's a full run towards the postseason. That's the goal. This year? I just wanted a step forward and to be 'in the mix.' We've seen that happen here. After a terrible start, pretty much ALL our key players except Dach have progressed. Reinbacher's injury prevented him from joining us but I'm not too worried about him at this stage.

Next year Beck, Demidov. RB... maybe Roy and others will join the team. We've built a really good foundation and have guys like Hage and Fowler on the way at some point too. It's gonna be exciting times to be a Hab fan.

I was also excited about engstrom too although I haven't really kept up much with him over the last few months.

Farrell has turned interesting again too from the grave.

I agree but what does this roster have to do with coaching

The way the roster is playing is significantly impacted by the coaching, year over year.

We have both one of the youngest rosters and roster with the least turnover the last 2 seasons.

In the fall, vast majority of pundits and fans on this board felt the roster was bottom 5. The idea that internal progression & Laine would enough to see a big on ice improvment most laughed at.

Yet despite the major injuries to Laine, Guhle & Dach, Habs are firmly in WC contention with 16 games to go while icing the youngest & least experienced lineup most nights.

That doesn't happen without very good team cohesion and execution... ie coaching.

BT has been dodging X in the past games. He wants nothing to do with fighting him and usually picks his opponents carefully.

In unheated circumstances, BT shouldn't be fighting Xhekaj at all.

He's an impactful player for them, and Xhekaj isn't his match in terms of on-ice impact for us in spite of the fact that he's one of our 6 Dmen vs. BT being one of their 12 forwards.

But then again BT likes to play a tough guy role, so if he dodges Xhekaj when asked to step-up then that makes him a bit of a rat-type of player and goes against the persona that he tries to project.

But do what I say and not what I do, I guess?

I feel like a 14 years old on the verge of having his first date while waiting for the game to start.

It's been a long time since i was that excited for a Habs game. Last time was in 2021 during the Covid playoffs.

I think Arber relishes playing the villain vs ottawa and will be in Stutzle's face if he gets to match up against him. I expect very physical games from struble, X and Anderson tonight.
I assume the tickytac stuff will contingent on the score ...
on another note, it's always fun to ghost their board. Poverty franchise.
It's hysterical how much they're obsessed with Xhekaj

God I hope Florian can make it to the show. Double the trouble.
