Pre-Game Talk: Game 67: Sens vs Habs, Tuesday March 18th - 7 PM EDT | TSN2, RDS

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I don’t think it’s a must-win. It’s a big game for sure, but it’s not the Sens we are trying to catch. 6 points (really 7 because of regulation wins difference), is a pretty big gap with only 16 games to go. In reality we are fighting for that last WC spot with 4 teams.

If the sens and Habs were losing more recently this would be a must win for both.

It's more of a "must" win for the Habs than Sens

If this game goes to OT everyone else is pissed and the sens and Habs are fine with it.

That said the Habs may lose here and in a month be looking at it as if they had won this game they'd be in the playoffs and maybe the sens are out.

Should be 1 hell of a game against the 2 hottest teams. I think.

If the Habs win it's better for them to win in regulation, as they need more of those for the tie breaker.

Every game from now on is a must win if we want WC2 spot.

It's a must win because Habs want to keep up to the Rangers and separate further from the Wings and Jackets for WC2.

And it's a must win because beating the professional diving teams called the Sens is always fun. :D

Obviously, the most important game to date. Both teams have been playing playoff “like” hockey. The Sens have a 6 point advantage and a superior 2nd line so we need another effort like we just had Vs the panthers. Having last change will help. Roy looks good along the boards & has offensive flair but his skating is noticeably slow at this level. MSL won’t change his lineup so……Go Habs Go.

It's must win for us, but not as much for the Sens other than as a rival match. They've distanced themselves well enough from WC2.

We need these 2 points. It would be better if we won in regulation but not essential. Currently, we're battling NYR for WC2 and we're never going to catch them in RWs, so we need to out point them.

Go Habs Go!!

Can’t lie, I’m looking forward to Savard-Xhekaj D pairing Vs Sens 1st line. It’s almost comical how Stutzle looks to the refs for a red card every time he plays us & the Tkachuk brothers both play tuff-guy Vs every other team in the league except us or should I say “The Sheriff”. I’m Stocked for this one!!!!

Roy looks good along the boards?? Sorry......not seeing that at all.
I would much rather the intensity of Owen Beck, than Roy in the lineup.

Big game tuesday night that's for sure. We need the points much more than they do.......I keep thinking back to the terrible slide before the break, the 1-7-1 slide If, we had even gotten 3 ins during that slide, we would be in the last WC spot, and just 2 behind the Turds.

Give Stutzle a pair of googles for his dives eh....

Habs have outscored Ottawa 9-3 this season and I'm sure the sens will be ready. They usually seem to get up for these games regardless.

Montreal should be up for it too, obviously.

Schedule wise, both teams will be coming off a 2 day rest.

Win these 2 games and the Habs are only 2pts behind. WC2 is not the only spot left.

I want to drag back the Sens into the mix. The 2 games against them are the most important of the remaining 16.

They still have 3 games against CLB which sucks for us. If CLB win those 3 and we lost these 2 games against the Sens it’s an extra 6pts we need to make up from neutral teams. But if we won those 2 games, the sens are fighting for a spot again with us. We want as many playoffs spot to remain open until we can lock one.

Anyway, get 2 points, don’t worry about the math too much. Just win, f*** the Ottawa Divers.

Also, not playing the Caps round1 would be a bonus

Senators are probably getting the penalty calls because Andlaauer won't put up with being screwed over. Unlike gutless pukes Geoff Molson and Edward Rogers.
