Pre-Game Talk: Game 67 Red Wings vs knights 1:00 pm et 3/16/25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Game will be on TNT, TRU and MAX, Let's Go Boys!

since there is no sense to talk about our chances here, my question is whether Jack wakes up sometimes in the middle of the night thinking where he would be right now if he stayed with Sabres?

Just based on our remaining schedule I don't think we are making the playoffs. I don't see us winning more than 4-5 games the rest of the way at best. Maybe we beat Utah, Montreal, Boston, St. Louis one other and then we are in need of stealing games against teams much better than us. Maybe we win 1 or 2 against the better teams, but even a .500 record isn't enough to get in, and I don't think we will even do that good. .500 gets us to 84 pts which isn't even close to getting us in.

This is not an automatic loss.

Vegas is 15-17 on the road
Detroit is 17-18 at home
(Basically the same)

Not to mention Vegas is on tail end of back to back road games and Detroit has been waiting for them. They also lost to Buffalo today, so not exactly a ‘hot’ team.

Actually a decent spot to take advantage… see if our Wings have even the faintest pulse left.

Yeah. Not trying to be a downer, but if you look at the schedule realistically, there might be one game out of 16 you would say the Wings are favored to win. It's just an absolutely brutal close - they could play their best hockey of the year and still go .500 and as you said, not even get close.

I was picking Utah as the only game where I would say we should win. Ottawa for whatever reason has our number, Montreal is playing better than us right now, Boston is a team we don't have great success against, and Stl still has a better roster than us to me. The rest of the teams are the cream of the crop for the most part.

I had Boston at home as the "should" win, if you just go by record. It's tough.
