I'm going to preface what I'm about to say to state that I'm a big fan of Strudwick but I was just listening to the GYB podcast and he says that he could see Skinner's contract come up in the neighborhood of what Adin Hill just got and for those that don't know, that's 6 years $6.25m/yr and to that I say, is Struddy crazy? Nevermind the fact that Hill had an outstanding cup run, he also has a .907 save pct. this season while Skinner is rocking an .896. Struddy is usually a straight shooter so this makes it even more bizarre. What is it that all these media guys are seeing that we're not. $6m/yr+ for Skinner? In what universe? Will he even have a starting job at the end of his contract? What's going on here?

Might actually be done with the team if they re-sign Stu Shitter

Sorry I don't listen to Rishaug so don't much of Struddy any longer.

Is Struddy feeling that is what Skinner is worth or just what he thinks the going rate is for a 'number 1' goalie is? Its similar to the Bouchard contract, is he worth anything over $7/year, he is the Patrick Laine of dmen. Would you rather have an overpaid goalie contract or an overpaid dmen (another). At least with the goalie contracts this year, I could say to the people whining about them thats what you get for a combined $3.6m. But this team hasn't managed the cap very well for a long time.

I hope they don't pay Skinner that much. Glad I'm done with the tickets.
I think he's talking about it being the going rate for a starter of that level, without him realizing that Hill is much better and more accomplished than Skinner. I almost have a hard time listening to him after a take that far out there.

WE lose the tiebreaker too. Vegas will do just enough down the stretch to retain first place. They can take games off because we've given them a margin. We're essentially 2.5-3GBL with only 16 games left. Considerable ground.
I don’t think it’s that’s crazy. I wouldn’t bet on it but a 5 point swing in 16 games is very possible.

If Skinner plays incredible these playoffs and we win the cup then struddy might have a tiny leg to stand on. That’s a pretty big if though.

It’s insane.

Strudwick accurately calls out the horrendous puck management, but makes the mistake of picking a side rather than understanding that both the play in front of Skinner and Skinner himself are terrible. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Have to laugh after the Devils game Strudwick was on the “but it was screened!” train, then Rishaug texts Jamie McLennan for his opinion. McLennan says his technique stinks and he didn’t work hard enough through the screen.

Even goalies call a spade a spade.

I disagree on Struddy, I think he has a great mind for the game and his coach speak is very insightful which is what makes it more bizarre.
Rob Brown is really the one who says a lot of stuff without much substance IMO.
This. x1000
Struds does have some odd takes but Brown is just bad. He'll pick sides and then run with it even if its abhorrently bad

I must never listen at the right time. Plus struds puts me to sleep. Not really a podcast fan a all though. If I'm listening to anything audio only its music. just how I roll. heh

How so? The NJ player was in the paint a cool 3 seconds. Kulak wasn't behind him...he was infront. Pretty horrible defense considering their whole game plan for 2 periods was to set up that screen.

The threat was on the left. He was peeking left. The shot eventually came from left middle, and went right side. So unless you're claiming he should have peeked right....you're wrong

I have no idea how to post a screen shot mobile but you can see as the puck is going on the NJ players ass is directly in his face...and Kulak is screening the right side even more
Not my fault Skinner at his finest

HUGE if and it would be completely out of nowhere but, yeah, if he leads the Oilers to a Cup with numbers even remotely similar to what Hill put up in their Cup run then I'd have no problem giving him Hill money. Hell, give him the keys to the city in that case.

Really? He makes me laugh out loud usually at least once a pod cast.
To me its like listening to Michaels and Debrusk. i just don't get into it. Works for some people.

That said if I see a podcast is an hour long or longer I'm just saying forget it. Its funny I can read any book but something about audio just puts me to sleep. Would have to be Sam Kinison yelling in my ear to keep me awake.

I noticed the game against the Isles Sorokin was reaching his head out like crazy to see around or through screens. There is a skill to it, I guess you don’t just stand there wondering why you can’t see anything.

Sorokin probably figured out peekaboo fast and Skinner might still think his dad can vanish magically at will

Going to change it up.

I have faith in Stuart Skinner. I think he's going to turn this around for us and prove he can do it
