I went back and took a closer look at this, it’s been over 20 years so I forgot all the details. The Oilers also got the Devils second round pick that year which they turned into JF Jacques so I guess that tipped the scales in our favour right?

Jacques was another immortal draft pick. Tough to forget him.

I don't think he refuses to get better. I think that some of the abilities you speak of are just not there.
