GDT: GAME 67 - Friday, March 14th, 2025 - Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars - 7:00pm CDT - TSN3 - CJOB/Power 97

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

    Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

    In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Rusty almost did something
They called him Turbo in Seattle and Hossa in college.

This is from his time in Pittsburgh.

What is your hockey nickname?
I have a couple. My old college roommates called me Hossa. I'm not really sure how Hossa came along. It just kind of stuck when we were freshmen.
Then some of my old teammates in Winnipeg call me Rusty. When I signed out of college and went to Winnipeg, my gear was pretty beat up and my skates had gone through the ringer. They were beating rust out of my rivets and 'Buff' (Dustin Byfuglien) was going through my equipment and gave me the nickname Rusty. Ever since then it stuck. We've already got a Rusty here (Bryan Rust), so we'll look for something new (laughs). We've yet to come up with one here yet, but I'm sure it will happen shortly.

Friends, hockeymad, beerleaguers, lend me a beer,
We come to bury the Stars, not to praise them.
All the world’s a stage,
And Shuffles, JoMo and Fly merely players.
We have our dangles and clap-bombs;
And roll 2 or so O-minded lines;
And within their shifts play many parts.
So be it.
Cry “Havoc!” and let fly the pucks of icy war,
That the Stars’ foul deeds shall smell above the earth
With carrion plays, groaning for burial.
Woe to the Dallas’d hand that offer their costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy—
And forsee Oettinger’s frights,
And who dost scurry and flee,
From the hail of pucks of blinding velocity,
From the blade of mighty Vilardi,
Sporting sickest perversions and heavy iceminits1
To fulfil the voice and utterance of my tongue—
A curse shall light upon the points of the Stars.
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Dallas.
