A bad Detroit team on the second night of a back to back. This is a gimme. So basically I'm predicting a 4-1 Detroit win.

And please stop all the talk of this is a "developing" season. The Toronto Maple Leafs are having a developing season. This team is made of old men and a couple young guys. We know what we have in 99 percent of this roster.

Agreed.. I say let them play as much as possible, and no doubt a player like Cehlarik can learn a lot from sitting upstairs every now and than with the coaches to going over game plans X & O's.

Could also send him back to Providence for a few games so he gets the feel of scoring back. Build his confidence and bring him back up. He's waiver expemt

It's almost like taking two gallons of water, throwing in 4 or 5 grapes and expecting fine wine.:D

No issues with folks who question Hayes finding himself back in the line up. He has however been as effective in his past 10 or 12 games than he has at any other point in the season especially in the short Cassidy's era. If you are in make a contribution and do not be a liability. His motivation should be high as should be the enitre team given the dreadful Ottawa performance.

Feel bad for Spooner for having to deal with one of the more difficult injuries in the game. Especially hard to take given how he had hit his stride in finding his game again and enjoying himself.

Time to get beyond playing down to the cellar dwellers. Cannot come out of this one without a win. Play with fire and .......

I agree that they should be developing this year. Disagree that sitting him for a game somehow impedes that development. Same goes for Carlo.

Take a night off, go upstairs with the coaches, get a different perspective, and come back refreshed. I think Cehlarik has much more upside than Hayes long term, but I also don't have an issue with Cehlarik sitting a game in favor of Hayes, who has looked decent of late.

Development isn't linear and it isn't all done on the ice.

Thing is, Cehlarik and Carlo are better options to have a good game over Hayes/Beleskey and Liles. That's why you keep playing them.

They have more skills and can have a positive impact on a game. You don't sit those because of a bad games. That's already in the rearview. The next game, who can give you the most between thos options? Cehlarik and Carlo to me.

Let's hope Stafford can catch fire with Krejci+Pasta and that Hayes can help Vatrano+Czarnik with his size...

Would have liked to see this.

Marchand—Bergeron—Stafford
Cehlarik—Krejci—Pastrnak
Vatrano—Backes—Szwarz
Schaller—Moore—Nash

He's not even under contract to the Bruins. Neither is Simpson. Both are on AHL-only deals.

Almost feels like a must win kind of game.

I'd say they've gotta win at least 3 of the 5 games that precede the Leafs/Senators back-to-back showdown, even from a psychological perspective. and tonight is probably the easiest game of the bunch, so yeah - an absolute must win game.

Spooner out will impact the PP.

That's a game the Bergy+Krejci lines and Rask will have to take on their shoulders.

Win this and add two more points over the pretenders (Tor/TB/Flo).

^^ Definitely. It's been great seeing him out there. He looks so confident with the puck.
