Maybe try and make it a bit harder at least? He completely botched the whole thing. If you can’t prevent the first pass at least don’t let the other guy easily beat you to the net. It’s just a lack of awareness.

He was left defending a 3 on 1 - the Dman is likely going to lose that battle when there are that many options for the puck carrier.
Easy to sit in your living room and couch coach that play - Pionk needs to bear down and skate his ass off to get back to give us any hope - he didn't.
Any way to play a 3 on 1 is likely leading to getting caught out of position - stay in the middle and hopefully cut it off.
Tough break but you don't blame the one guy back when in that position.
