GDT: Game 66: Sharks vs. Predators 7:30pm NBCSCA

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
Losing to Chicago virtually confirms another last place finish for us. Hopefully that prompts the org to bring up some of the Cuda kids without worrying that they might make us win a handful of extra games. When he is healthy, have Askarov take the majority of the starts. Bring up Cagnoni and Bystedt. Lets just see something a little more interesting for the final few games than the same trash.

I sorta get playing Kostin, there’s shifts and games where he looks really good, huge, soft hands, etc. and games where he makes a lot of boneheaded moves. The issue with that line is Smith and Kostin are slow and Celebrini is fast and it felt like they weren’t keeping up.

What does drive me a little crazy is that Kovalenko and Celebrini play really well together, they clicked, Kovalenko put up a bunch of points… and has never played with Macklin again. It’s maddening.

I would love to try Kovalenko - Celebrini - Toffoli and Eklund - Smith - Wennberg. Hell, put Wennberg on the 3rd line with Kostin and Dellandrea and make that 2nd line Eklund - Smith - Graf.

All that said, our offense is the only fun thing about this team. Other than Muhk, the entire back end is… sorrows.

On the bright side as many have noted Mukh looks great! Crazy how his season has unfolded, I doubt any of us could have predicted how it has turned out! I was honestly a bit worried with his progress as he started with an injury, then in the AHL he didn't look great and maybe regressed compared to last year and then when he got his first call up this season he looked uncomfortable and not confident at all.

Now he arguably could be our best defensemen on the team which is great to see, but also quite sad and hilarious on what this says about the D we are dressing each night currently.

I'm glad Warso finally took Kostin out of the top 6, please stop trying it! I would prefer Graf or Kovalenko given that chance. If they want to do a callup I guess you can go Bordeleau/Guschin but I doubt they try those players. Speaking of callups I'd like to see Cagnoni get a chance over Schuldt. We could desperately use a PP QB and hey if anything it should help Celebrini get some more points to help him with this tight Calder race.

I am so impossibly tired of seeing Barclay Goodrow skate to the penalty box 3 times a game and spearheading a pk unit that can't stop anything. Could we at least see someone in the AHL has some juice at the NHL level?

Remember OUR mission this year. Also, besides Graf/Kovalenko--Celebrini --Smith would make a decent scoring line, but I would also ask who will play defense on that line. They are all rookies. I think once we clinched last place, Reinforcements will be coming from OHL: Musty, Chernyshov, Dickinson, Halttunen. Leave the Cuda boys there in the AHL for their playoff run.

Preds fan here. Doing a California hockey road trip.. I was in attendance last night. First time at your arena. I liked the fact that your game ops doesn't have the volume cranked to 11, they didn't try embarrassingly hard to get the crowd going, comfy seats, cup holders at the feet, really liked the LED lights in the seats and your food options were miles better than what I have at the Bridge. Jusse stole that game. You have alot to look forward to, keep the faith.
