Gallant is the one holding us back right now. The lines are a mess. Somehow with the pieces he has he put the worst 9 together.

The powerplay units like this is downright criminal. You don’t split these players up. Just absolutely insane decision

I honestly don’t know what they did those two days of practice but he put everything in a blender 5 mins later.

1000%. Gallants strategy when they added Kane and Vlad was to somehow become more hands off

It's nice that he has actual points to conject about.

I'd love to be able to argue the validity of the points Kakko produces.

The only interesting thing about Kakko's production is that you can't divide by zero.

You can find 4 game sample sizes for Kakko where he got three total and two accidental points as well.

I mean Kreider's was way worse.

I disagree. Kane being utter dogshit and turning the puck over left and right hasn't been great. The D is scrambling and completely lost without Lindgren. Zibby is largely invisible. Kreider actually looks slow. The two top picks certainly aren't helping, but they're not supposed to be the top producers on this team and we can't expect them to carry the team when the top guys suck.

Laf has also been scoring quite a bit lately.

Did you see the goal he scored against Buffalo? Wasn't even a shot on net. Let's not act like he's been some offensive dynamo.
Kane's goal yesterday was a total fluke. Agreed!

Objectively the PP worked. They opened up a lane and the goalie in the next post code. No amount of coaching can overcome Kreider f***ing that up

I honestly don’t care if it worked on one offs. The long term health of sitting your top guys for big powerplay mins throws everyone off. It’s literally NEVER done. You don’t split up your best players into two powerplay groups. Literally ever.

To paraphrase Trouba, too many guys going out for a twirl. Stop getting embarassed.

Tarasenko has some of that Kovalev "not gonna give a shit until you piss me off then oh right time to launch you into the boards comrade". Frankly shocked he stood up for Chytil like that.
