That's what the kids do. One of them will put together a nice little stretch, generate a million victory laps from the fanbase, then completely evaporate for 17 straight games lol.
It’s why Drury pushed his chips in this year. There’s no next core. We’re not winning anything with Laf/Chytil/Kakko as our best players. Drury knows now is our best chance

We face them 3 times in this stretch. Need 2 of 3. Absolutely need at least 1 of these 3. It's a 4 point swing

A month ago everyone was saying the complete opposite, that Laf was useless and that Kakko was contributing a two way game and dishing the puck for Chytil.
Because a month ago Kakko was having his good games and now he's in the middle of one goal in 18. Like always.

Every player gets hot. They're never going to do it consistently because they're just not that good.

I’m getting sick and goddamn tired of the fire Gallant diatribes every other post from the same guys. Over and over. You’ve made your point. Watch the game.
Did I mention how much he sucks ? How can you stomach this product on the ice? It's pathetic

I just don’t think these problems are unique to these players though. This team is streaky as hell.

As much as it's annoying that Lafreniere can't do basic things and his skills haven't really progressed, he at least finds a way to produce at a top six rate. Say what you will about his tap-in goals, he at least knows what to f***ing do with it when the puck finds him in a great position (as NHL players should).

Kakko has chance after chance and panics literally every time. At least once a game he finds himself in a great position and does nothing. Not a pass, not a shot, just waits until he loses the puck.
He panics because he never has enough time to settle things down not just physically but mentally. His skating is a problem, but I don't think he has a particularly high hockey IQ either. Doesn't have good vision with the puck, not a particularly good passer. That's fine if you are Rick Nash and are able to dangle around guys and force yourself to the net. But Kakko hasn't shown he has any ability to do that at all.
