Game will be on TNT, TruTV and Max, Let's Go Boys!

Oof, wasn’t actually expecting to see much Mrazek. I guess I do have to face the fact that I’ve always really disliked him as a goalie. Maybe he’s learned to stay in his crease over the last 5 years?

I feel like we win this one tonight, but gonna need to score 5+ with Mrazek in net.

My enthusiasm for this season has pretty much fizzled out, prove me wrong and start a winning streak boys.

5-4 final, LGW!

If we lose tonight I think it's time to full embrace the tank. Hope I'm wrong but i think the seasons already done and would be better longterm to pick at 8 than 14

I don't understand how Elmer isn't getting pp time still and still gust on the pp over ed. The ONLY thing I can think of is Todd is playing the useless vets in all situations to try to make them look good so after the season is over he can sell steve on moving them out because they didn't get it done.

Because Ed isn't very good at running a power play. Being above average offensively does not get you a job on a NHL PP. Personally I think he is a little slow with his puck movement for the role. He is not naturally quick with the puck. Perhaps he can develop that facet of his game over time, but I really don't see him ever being much of a PP contributor in Detroit once ASP gets here. Ed is quickly becoming very misunderstood as a player.

Gus was brought here specifically to run the second PP unit. It is hardly a surprise that he is being asked to do just that.

What games have you been watching? Ed moves the puck wayyyy better than gus and he actually also has a good shot that he uses. You might be the only fan i know that would prefer gus on the pp over ed.

As is evident by the earlier portion of this paragraph.

Hmm .. not sure I'd agree with that. He ran the GR PP last year and I thought did an excellent job. Obviously a different level of competition.

Friendly reminder that:

Montreal lost 8 of 9 in early February.
Columbus lost 4 straight in February and 8 of 9 in December.
Ottawa lost 5 straight in February.

Losing is part of the NHL in an 82 game season, especially when you are a playoff bubble team.
And last season we were loosing and then had a strong finish. It's unlikely, but possible we make it, but why Yzerman did not try do anything at trade deadline. We have plenty prospects and mid first this draft. We could land top 4 defansman , Carlo , for example

I think Ed is a good passer and has pretty good offensive instincts, and has good production to go along with it. I'd like to see what he could on the PP and I think he deserves a good look on one of the units even though I think he's probably more valuable in defensive roles on a good team. I hope his offensive game keeps growing and I think getting a chance on the PP could help with that but I totally understand if the coaching staff feels like it might not be the proper role for him.
