We are in agreement.

I think that's born more out of me repeating positive things I've stated before than actual common ground reached. I'm disappointed that we finished the deadline no tangibly closer to the next 2 seasons' goals than before. I understand rooting for the team. I don't think either side is a batshit crazy take.

We have NOT become a city on its SECOND franchise after its first left town and won the Cup and the current franchise hasn't done jack.

We are a Stanley Cup winning team and the heart of the STL when its on ice, something teams like the Mild and the Sharts have not achieved.

Don't disrespect the Note like that.
We have won cup, but currently this team is middle of nowhere. closest what comes My mind is Wild.

Like I Said early people live some wonderland If they think we are playoff team. Bubble team at best.

I dont disrespect. IT just fact Blues are mediocre team like Wild at best.

It's not as simple as losing for a better draft pick and then we're hockey gods in no time. I've never claimed it is. My point is that we lack top end talent. Now we have a mostly clean cap table, we've restocked the cupboard prospect-wise, we have our coach of the future. We have painted ourselves in a corner where we have to make a move or really get great play out of Dvo and Snuggy pretty quick. All I'm saying is that we should move in a direction. If it's to push all the chips in, I'm in. If it's to take a step back to take a step forward, I'm in. But this middle ground stuff just drives me nuts. It's probably just Cardinals fatigue, but we gotta turn a corner somewhere.

You really think Army doesn't have a goal to contend? That the "middle ground" is his goal? Pushing the chips all in right now would be stupid. In the past we made key trades for ROR, Schenn, Bouw to name a few but timing was everything. Seems like you're just impatient.

If you're in favor of the "bottoming out" strategy, you do realize that would have meant trading Thomas, Kyrou, Binner, Parayko, etc, right? As I said before the teams that truly bottomed out did so because they had no other choice, I seriously doubt would prefer to go that route if they had a better option. We also drafted our best C, F and D at 20, and in the 2nd and 3rd round.

Not really different than what the Blues did in '23 trading ROR, Tarasenko, Mikkola, etc.
Not different at all, Boston is just 3 years behind us. We also have a better prospect pool. This isn't a thing that can be fixed overnight. People calling us the "New Wild" is funny tho. 3 years of average play, after 10 years of being consistent cup contenders with one of those years we actually won a cup equates to over 25 years of mediocrity and a team leaving.
