Big Game Story: Post Trade-Deadline Game-Day. This is the second game this season between the Los Angeles Kings and the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets beat the Kings, 5-3, in the first game on Oct. 4, 2013 at MTS Centre. Much has happened both in L.A. and in Winnipeg since the last time these two teams met during the season's opening weekend. While the Kings endured a lengthy slump that jeopardized their postseason hopes in January due largely to a sputtering offense, the Jets struggled for much of 2013-14, leading to the firing of coach Claude Noel. In recent weeks however, both teams have experienced significant turnarounds. The Kings have won five straight games, while the Jets, under new coach Paul Maurice, have climbed back into the thick of the Stanley Cup Playoff race. In addition to winning five games in a row, the Kings made one of the biggest splashes at the NHL Trade Deadline on Wednesday, acquiring forward Marian Gaborik from the Columbus Blue Jackets in hopes of jump-starting their offense. A game that six weeks ago might have been seen as between two of the League's most inconsistent teams is now between two of the hottest. With the Jets now on the fringes of one of the Western Conference's two wild-card spots, the Kings' visit to Winnipeg on Thursday carries significant postseason implications. GO KINGS GO !!!

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Can't wait. Let's see what lines Sutter devises with Gaborik. GO KINGS!

Trying to be cautiously optimistic about it. You never know with Sutter. King/Lewis/Gaborik.... don't do it!!!

I'd guess rolling TT/AK/MG, and 23/28/14 to start,

King-Kopitar-Gaborik
Toffoli-Carter-Williams
Pearson-Richards-Brown
Clifford-Stoll-Lewis/Nolan

In the morning skate, our top line is Gaborik-Kopitar-Williams.

Wait, what??? Didn't Sutter do his homework? Doesn't he know that Gaborik does_NOT_play_LW?

And for those of you who are slow, 'not' doesn't mean he's incapable of playing that position, it means he doesn't play it very well. Don't forget to read between the lines!

The angle of the picture duped me into thinking Richards grew Polamalu hair all of a sudden

If this morning skate lineup actually produces results, it's sexy:

Gaborik – Kopitar – Williams
Brown – Richards – Carter
King – Stoll – Toffoli
Clifford – Pearson – Lewis – Nolan

You know who else can be put on Kopi's LW? Quick. Dress him up and send him out there. The probability of success? LOW. History shows Gaborik can't play LW.

At least Lewis isn't in the top 6?

Positivity isn't easy for me. I'm trying...

You're right, we're so far out of playoff position that we can't afford experimenting in the last 20 games of the season...

how long until Gaborik is in Sutter's doghouse? 4 games? 2 games? 4 shifts?

People around the entire league are making way too much out of Sutter's past.

Sutter is a different coach now, Jeff Carter does just fine under Sutter, he is not a Sutter player.

Sutter does understand the need for Offense.

Gaborik will have a pretty long leash, due to his track record of scoring. Gaborik's effort level has not been a problem anywhere he has played.

What Sutter won't put up with, is guy's Like Penner.

King-Kopitar-Gaborik
Toffoli-Carter-Williams
Pearson-Richards-Brown
Clifford-Stoll-Lewis/Nolan

I like those lines. I hate splitting the King/Stoll/Brown line. But I like the fact your keeping Pearson in the lineup because he has been skating and hitting and its just a matter of time before he starts putting the puck in the back of the net. Also like Gaborik at his natural RW position. The second line might be a +/- issue.

Toffoli see's the ice much better on the right side as he is likes passing to that trailing teammate off the rush and it is much easier on his forehand. Williams likes that back and forth along the boards and effective coming across behind the net to the left end boards. So maybe we switch Toffoli and Williams.
