Would be nice if they can move him in the offseason
I still think the best is to just haggle a price at the next TDL, giving him all the chances to demonstrate he can help a contender. Hopefully he can avoid fancy plays during pre-season and give it a better shot next season.

Also this avoids having to lock up a retention slot for a full season.

Haters will hate... every team needs a whipping boy
I don't think showing some frustrations with Laine makes him a whipping boy. I like Laine but I am concerned at his true commitment to this team. I base this on nothing more than reading here and seeing some pundits in media express their concerns about another case of the flu. The Habs need this guy who by the way has been borderline bad for many games.

Imagine paying your hard earned money to see these two dog shit teams go at it, who would be that stupid? I definitely didn't just buy tickets for this game right now...

Man no hockey before 22pm this is crap.

Well....losers of 2 in a row and it is absolute crunch time. This is the ultimate anti-tank game.

Best case scenarios for the tankers....a regular time loss gives Vancouver the two points in their race with Calgary and we get nothing.

Best case scenario for the playoffs. Overtime win.

Worst case scenario for all of the old guys on this board.....really no chance we even see the game

Best case scenario for all of the old guys on this board....game goes to overtime and coincides with the first pee of the night to catch the OT before going back to bed.

Late game....Tuesday night......March break. Let's f***ing go!!!!!
Why is best case for the playoff overtime win? Aren’t RW better for tie brake?

Personally, it's the accumulation of things in such a short period of time. He's been here 34 games and he's already whined to the media about his ice time, put his foot in his mouth before the Columbus game throwing his former teammates under the bus and responding by getting taken out of the game. Then you add the poor effort that culminated in a missed sure goal because he didn't want to skate to the net recently. That's quite a resume for not even half a year of play. Kovalev didn't even whine about getting put on the LW, on the third line.

He’s a bad seed, a terrible seed

He’s one of the worst seeds I’ve ever seen

My gripe with Laine is that he’s too one dimensional, and doesn’t offer much outside of goals. However, I can’t blame him too much this season given his line mates aren’t the best.

I am skipping this one; carrying HF Habs has worn me out.
you should read all the heavy lifting @Lshap and @Lafleurs Guy are doing in the Caufield thread on the main board; I'm exhausted just reading it. The habs hate is real. The orcs are out and only facts can drive them out of their troll caves. You need to be awake and here for this game.
______insert dramatic music here
