If we win on Thursday Grier is gonna trade everybody.

Tonight he storms down to the dressing room, produces a ream of printer paper from his suit jacket, and hurls it against the wall while screaming at the team for screwing all of this up.

Then Smith chuckles his head snaps in that direction, staring daggers.

"You think this is funny? You think this is a joke, kid? You won't think it's so funny when you're riding the bus in f***ing WICHITA!"

And he kicks over the trash can and storms out.

Maybe Georgiev is worth keeping around as a 1B for Askarov. He'll be cheap, speaks Russian and has starter experience in case Askarov can't hack it.

This has been a weirdly boring game.

So I booted up Everquest and decided to be nature's most fearsome creature: a frog wielding domain over the veil between life and death. :sarcasm:

For a 25 year old game it doesn't look that bad. And where else can you play as a tiny purple frog with necromancer powers? Or a cat bard. Or a reptillian kung fu monk? Or an emo dragon-man paladin?Or a basic-ass tolkein/D&D style fantasy human/elf/dwarf I guess.
Had a Human Monk a long long time ago before Iskar was introduced. EQ is an incredible game but there's so much to catchup on now as I stopped playing in 2002.

If he finishes this season playing like he is, he should start there next season and look for another developing defenseman to build the 3rd pairing next season around.
I don't know if it's realistic at this point, but I feel like this could create a situation where you have Dickinson on your third pair to start the season (maybe with Liljegren to help insulate him), where you give him his nine games and if he's good, keep running with him (maybe like with Smith this year) with Thrun and even Vlasic in reserve--while you add a d-man to bolster the top pairing.

Vlasic is going to be bought out. Plain and simple.

He will want to be the starter, that being said it seems like his attitude is a lot better but just in case they should sign Deangelo to keep him honest

Even though Ferraro and Georgiev have played better, they still don't fit the future imo. Move players that don't fit the future.
Well, we're going to have to have a veteran goalie on the roster next year, but whoever it is, we won't want to have a long commitment

Grier comes into the locker room, tips over the Keurig, smashing it to pieces on the ground just as Eklund is reaching for a post-game cup.

"Coffee....is for losers."

Eklund giggles nervously.

"You think I'm f***ing with you? You better start losing. I am not f***ing with you. I'm here from Rebuild and Teardown. And I'm here on a mission of tanking."

It takes brass pucks to win at hockey

This is the kind of game I've been waiting for Eklund, Smith, Celebrini all showing they're future (if not current) stars. Toffoli, Wennberg, and Zetterlund being that reliable contributors.

But I really want to focus on how good Mukhamadullin has been. He is reliable in his own end and makes smart plays with the puck in all three zones. That quick little pass to Celebrini on his goal is really under the radar kind of plays I love to see.

It seems daunting, but I've found that if I'm not caught up in the loot grind and just powering all the way to the level cap where lots of long-time players a lot of the quality of life improvements make it a fun, relatively low-pressure ride. There's now a shared starting city for all races/classes to address the smaller server populations and an in-game guide that can direct you towards quests that will help gear you up take you through the levels.

It's a shame that a lot of classic zones are basically deserted because most of the remaining players are are just focused on grinding the biggest, best stuff. But it makes it easy to run around and explore without interruption. And since the Kunark era level cap is only like the halfway point now, you can get strong enough to just smack around the heavyweight dragons and gods and whatnot. A few years ago I and a couple of other people went and slaughtered Nagafen. Just 3 of us against a dragon that used to require dozens.

the advent of mercenaries (NPC party members that function like warriors, clerics, wizards, or rogues) also makes it a little more viable to play solo sometimes even for classes that might normally not be great at soloing.
