if you are about to have a good chance for a shot they will call the penalty almost everytime, Panarin got mugged but he didnt have a shot at a good chance so they wont call it. They need to train their refs because its ruining this game.

nhl has created a situation where there is no threshold for hooking and slashing. its just random and whatever the ref feels like calling is whats gonna get called.

Nice to see that we can keep up with them regardless of the shot disparity. Weathered their initial storm and started forechecking, again good to see.

Looks like the Canes got away with a penalty in the slot, but then our D may have got away with a small interference at the blueline.

its just insanity. our team gets mugged all game long, we have basically a defense of skill players and some of the most talented forwards in the world and we get no penalty calls.

We also don't do as much as other teams to generate calls against, but there DOES seem to be the bias that you're referring to. Too many missed calls that don't pass the eye test.
