1. And sometimes we will.

2. I'll disagree and move on.
1. Yep - agreed. We need to take advantage of our opportunities. I hope it's obvious that I was stressing the results when I made that comment. But generally speaking (over the season), its been 5 v 5 scoring that’s been the issue versus the PP.

2. Good. No worries.

Sure, even strength goals are good. Getting even strength goals PLUS PP goals is even better.

Yes, Shesterkin is good. I recognize that. Great game & win. I loved it.

Not sure why I’m getting so many negative comments after stating that 0 goals on 5 PP opportunities is not a good result. That seems like a pretty innocuous yet valid statement.
I’ll tell you why: time and place. 5 seconds after a huge win is not the right time. Tomorrow would be a great time.

We’re all (mostly) human beings in here, and most human beings don’t want to hear that shit in the middle of a celebration.

Look man, I’m sorry if it came off as rude because I don’t know you, but my response was legit.

You asked a question, and my answer is why you got the responses you got.
I’m hoping that people in here can handle some nuance. I’ve cheered for the Sens since the day they returned to the NHL. I will until I die.

Hopefully optimism can be balanced with obvious end-result oriented observations. But, maybe not.

I don’t question your loyalty or anything like that.

My point was just to answer you question as to why you were getting the responses you were getting.

I know we haven’t gotten along in the past, but I have zero beef with you.

There is also some nuance to the fact that the 2nd goal was scored as a PP expired so while not technically a PP goal it basically was

Man I’ve been so so so lucky. Zero injuries.

Two seasons ago I had a no contact small strain I was back peddling and my knee did a little jig. I’ve been strapping in a brace ever since as a precaution.
Wearing an orthotic Brace was an experience for a few years... I got lucky and my miniscus was just a bucket handle tear that was surgically repaired, and my acl healed to around 90%

I missed the game - how did Cozens look?
Liked his game. He carried the puck well through the neutral zone and had a couple good zone entries. Willing to drive the net and lay on the body. Apparently credited with 9 hits in the game. Had pk shifts as well. Will take some time adjusting and learning our style of play but I didn’t see any defensive issues.

In Cozens' first game on a line with David Perron and Drake Batherson, he showed the five-on-five potential Staios was looking for. Cozens now has 12 primary assists this season at five-on-five, while Norris has 13 primary assists at five-on-five in his entire career. What a wild but telling stat.
👀 😯
The Senators have had three third-period comebacks in their last four games after beginning the season 1-20-0 when heading into the final period behind.

If Cozens plays like this every game it will be a very, very good trade.

I think one of the biggest differences between him and Norris is his ability to transport the puck and his patience with the puck. He’s miles ahead of anyone on this team in that department outside of Stutzle.

I truly think that whether or not Cozens scores more than Norris, his play will help us spend less time in our zone and wear down opponents because he attacks the middle of the ice with speed and pushes back defenders in a vulnerable position that creates chaos. Then he forechecks hard. In turn that makes it way tougher on opponents to exit their own zone cleanly.

I’m a big fan of what I saw today. Yes the point is great, the hits are great but he has a skill that will always help this team and I think it will help our transition game outside of the Stutzle line and willl really make us a 3 line threat. Before we always had a line who couldn’t figure it out but Cozens is able to make things happen on his own. That’s huge.
