In my brief viewing of Kane here, I see where he floats from time to time and where the analytics suffer, but I also see what he can do.
I definitely think there's some merit to the notion that his underlying numbers are further harmed by the fact that he doesn't need to shoot until the chance is there because he's so creative.
That's not to say he hasn't had some giddy-up but he prioritizes offense as he should.
He risks turning the puck over in areas most guys won't and he slows up on the backcheck if there's a chance to counter.
When the Sens have whole ass had the puck, he's defended.
