Watching Stutzle's game tonight, so far (two periods), makes me wonder if he'll ever really turn into a clutch player.
Sort of a Mariner-in-the-playoffs vibe....
He may get a goal, but it won't be one that matters.

I thought he looked good tonight, his entires were great, for sure when Batherson skates with the puck he is legit talent but once he gets to within 40 feet of the net everyone in hockey knows he’s thinking pass and he becomes predictable, if he shot more and drove the net more like you say instead of pulling up and looking pass all the time he’d be so much more dangerous

Perron has been a huge boost to Norris and Batherson in terms of possession time.

Dude controls so many loose pucks and is so good on battles, keeps the play moving forward and calm.

This is something that most coaches do. All these coaches know eachother and copy eachother and come from the same school.
This “tactic” is simply something they all do and likely won’t ever stop. I doubt not a single one of them can actually explain to you why they think it works or what they believe it actually accomplishes. It borders on superstition?

Rough game for Sandy and Ullmark. Bath looked dangerous alll night.

I don't blame Sanderson for that first goal. That was all on Ullmark mucking it up.

All our D were average to poor in this game I thought. Zub and Jensen were somewhat serviceable but that’s about it. Sanderson and Matinpalo also struggled defensively very badly. Forwards coming back were scampering and missing assignments and everything else. Fortunately got the two points but need to settle down in our own zone. Doing so will help Ullmark as well.

Provided nothing much happens at the deadline and all guys get healthy I’d like to see them run a third pairing of JBD and Klevin again. Unfortunately as long as Hamonic remains here I don’t think we ever see him being a healthy scratch and I just don’t get that at all.

It seems to me that the team has lost its defensive focus and is giving up too many chances.

The concept of letting the opposition attack our net from down low without any push back is wild.

I get some of what they are doing, but we need to change up the look every once is a while to give the PP something to think about. The rest of the league has figured out how to beat our current setup.

I think we will - touch wood LOL. Players go through peaks and valleys. It's a long season, so that’s not unusual.

Agreed. Perron looked great tonight. Very engaged. He stirs the pot on that line. He forechecks hard.

We are a better team with him in the lineup.

It’s been 5 weeks since Cousins had his injury and his timeline was 6-8 weeks. He should be back in the next 2 weeks here.
