Koskinen was never close to this bad statistically.
And he played for a team that gave up like 50% more chances. Koski likely got a tough go.
This team with Koskinen in net is first in the West.

Yeah, our goaltending has been bad but our defence is also extremely leaky and we can't create any offence 5 on 5. A trade for a goaltender isn't going to be enough.

There's no contenders this year man.
Every team in a playoff spot this year is as shitty as the Oilers.
Because goaltending has been bad all season and it's the area most obviously in need of repair and easiest to upgrade, given how objectively bad both goalies are relative to the rest of the league.
Some people don't understand how bad goaltending can affect an entire team. Hard to not let it affect your psychology when you know any given shot could go in.
It isn’t even like we’re giving up these looks because we’re selling out to score. They’re just utterly incompetent at all aspects of the game.

I want a goaltending upgrade but I also think the main issues isn't goaltending. Our entire fwd core is washed and useless outside of 2 players.

Right now we’re playing so bad almost everything is wrong. PP appears to be decent still but that’s it. Bottom 6 scoring non existent. All secondary top 6 scoring non existent. McDavid just getting going again hopefully I guess.
Away from the puck the PK sucks, nobody is playing with any intensity or assertiveness physically or otherwise, the turnovers are atrocious and the goalies can’t stop anything semi dangerous.
