I don't think that's true. I think they believe in eachother and are frustrated together.

You see it at the start of games. It's not until a softy that goes in that they start to sag and zone out. It's trauma response man.

You get a good goaltender in there and the team will look totally different.

I just don’t think its this teams year. Without goaltending they have no chance in the playoffs. But there are several things wrong with this team. Without some significant retooling I think our window is over. Unfortunately I don’t have much faith in current management making the necessary changes.

The only fire I’ve seen from McDavid is when he scored the game winning Canada goal

He barely celebrates in normal games

I get the whole “we are focused on the larger goal” lines

But … um … you have to get to the playoffs too brah… and that ain’t guaranteed

Starting to wonder wtf happened to this team in the last month. Like something must have happened. How dies a team the systematically destroyed Boston that one game fall to this?

I don't doubt that bad goaltending can impact the way a team plays, and there have definitely been games where the team dominated but got hung out to dry by their goaltending. That's not what's happening right now- a lot of their mistakes are pure lack of effort or attention. We allowed a breakaway in the first minute of the game. Last game, we were leading by one, Carolina took a penalty in the final minute of the game, and we somehow allowed the Canes a shorthanded breakaway. I have a really hard time pinning that on the team not trusting their goalies. The team has their heads up their collective asses right now (goaltenders included), and they need to get their shit together quickly.

The goaltending was bad even when this team was playing well, they just played airtight D to keep the floodgates from opening on this tandem...aside from a couple rare games where they looked like they might actually belong in this league (like the last one). Hence why both goalies have spent the entirety of the season in the bottom quarter of the league in GSAx.

The fight is gone for these goaltenders, they've given up on them.

It's human nature, the trust is gone. They're just tired. It's like that one idiot coworker you have that f***s everything up all the time.

At a certain point your will to keep hustling for them dies.

It's even worse because Skinner gets spit shines all day every day.

That's not a thing, so I was told. They're inhuman robots with zero emotions who will try 100% of the time regardless of the outcome.

I'd be hard pressed to even leave the bench at this point, lol.
