Vatrano may or may not be in the line up tonight, did not practice. But Gallant may still squeeze him in. Will post an update on that.

Vatrano will meet the media and team, but I doubt he plays until Saturday. Gauthier will come out when it happens unless he has a monster game tonight. He's already lost his RW3 job and is playing LW now, something he hasn't played all season, so I think that's a precursor for Saturday. Also, let's not **** around tonight, please. Let's smoke this puke team and get Shesterkin his first win against these guys. Also, let's get Laf off the shneid tonight. The stars need to continue to shine. I have confidence they will.

Annoyed about this game. Had to sell my tickets for the game when it was scheduled for the Thanksgiving weekend (Nov 28) since I was going to be out of town for the holiday, of course they postponed it due to the Isles having COVID. 😡

new team,

new teamates, no time to get aquainted or practice, you want your new guy to feel comfortable with his teamates before going to war.
Going to War? Chill out.

He's been playing all season. He's in shape. Sit Goat and let Vatrano start on the LW with McKegg and Reaves. He's more than capable of playing 11 minutes tonight.

I think the “big ask” of a guy playing before practicing with his new team is being over blown. If Vatrano is available and ready, he should play. If he lacks chemistry he’ll develop it over time with the team - one practice isn’t going to change that, and without knowing the system or his teammates he’s still likely better than Gauthier, McKegg, etc.

I’ll be in the city tonight but tickets are way too expensive for me. Anyone watching at any of the local watering holes? I’m in from 4:30-6 for a meeting but bringing a jersey… just in case.

As for whether Vatranao plays tonight, I'm going with hockey cliche #542, which is he will and be encouraged to "just relax and play *your* game and just have fun out there."

I tried doing that at my last job but got fired for playing NHL while I was supposed to be working. They said just relax and play your game…

It wasn't as much playing NHL while working as colleagues started lining up by your desk and asking-not-asking "I got next?". It became a distraction to others.

I had my night on Tuesday. Was a great night, both teams played well, was a good game, and drank a lot before the game, so taking a break tonight from the drinking. Plus, I am not huge on St. Patrick's Day. Bars are too crowded. But have fun, and if you see any islander's fans, demand some fish sticks! lol.

You should check out that bar I mentioned, it's not far from the garden. Not a big place but the staff is nice and they have a great selection of beer, and the burger is amazing there,

lol you make it like I'm the first to use battle metaphors for sports. it didn't fit your point of view so now its not acceptable? Battle, war, etc. these are words used for sports all the time. Of course they're not risking their lives going on the ice. The intensity in this sport though is higher than playing games, so using words to imply more intensity seems acceptable and occurs all the time throughout all sports. t's a mentality of 'all hands on deck', everyone 100% and him being thrown in after a trade may not be 100% and we want him feeling comfortable that's all.

We're comfortably in a playoff spot so not make or break either way.

I have never seen a team acquire a new player, especially a full time NHL regular, and not play them right away.

However, this IS the Rangers we are talking about so any dumbass idea is not outside the realm of possibility.

What’s the name again? I know you’ve posted it before but I can’t recall. My meeting is on 41st and Broadway so I’ll be right in the area.
