Hutson is a top 20 d-man in his rookie season. I cannot believe we have a #1 guy. Not sure how his game evolves but he would benefit from a crease clearing, crisp passing, defensive aware guy. Not sure who that guy is but a healthy guhle and reinbacher, combined Hutson and xhekaj are all solid guys that are young.

The trade was good. The mistake was not to re-sign him in the off-season. It wasn't smart to assume Kirby could handle it. 5.5 million x 5 years was fine. He's only 30, and would have 4 years left after this season. He's PPG right now, smart players like him produce without the speed. It was a necessary gamble to take imo. You dump a guy like Evans and Dvorak or Armia if you have to.
