For the record and all the Warsofsky haters, he didn't once start a period or OT with any dumb ass line combinations. Just so the next time it happens people don't disintegrate.
That was a super frustrating game.
- what he hell was Georgie doing on that first goal? That's an easy save if he doesn't stumble back on his heels. And Hutson gets a point for making a good not great cross ice pass. Ugh.
- so many close chances and posts. Snakebit Macklin... That backdoor chip from Eklund was so close, etc etc
- total job by the refs, absolutely. Soft calls, missed calls.
- bummer to see Celly get walked to lose the game, going to have to hear it from Habs fans in the threads now even though he generally had a pretty dangerous game and was all over the ice
That said
+ three straight games of being very much in the game, even in difficult environs and vs at least one excellent team
+ Nobody is losing motivation. Even the 4th and 3rd lines were going tonight, although Dell/Kunin/Goody couldn't control puck to save their lives
+ Excellent game from Smith, which is becoming a theme... Seems he's figuring out how to play physically without having to be as strong physically (Zetts really should have headmanned him on that partial breakaway)
+ I haven't been too impressed with Mukh but I thought he looked good tonight, and Ferraro looked good too
+ With a healthy Askarov or Blackwood, we win that game
+ I know, no moral victories and blah blah, but I firmly believe it DOES matter that we're the team with the most 1 goal and "close" losses in the league, and I believe that next year more of those wins will break our way.
