After 1 sure. Not after severalI hate bad goals, playing well after giving one up though will always be a positive not a negative
It's almost always been this way. It's been over 2 decades since the Senators have had a 'deep' team and that roster was constructed under an entirely different economic landscape.
Batherson is not a bad player. He's a limited player with some substantial flaws.
One was a rebound that he didn't control well, failed GI challenge. The other was a breakdown 4v4I didn't realize the game started early.
Were they weak goals ?
His primary problem is low IQ/no feel for playing the game the right way. You can't fix that, all you can do is limit it with a stifling system which is pretty much what Travis Green has done this year. When the substantial flaws are something fully in your control (effort, paying attention to details in your own end, making bonehead decisions over and over), I think that's pretty indicting. I'd be less critical if he just didn't have foot speed or something.
Maybe I shouldn't of said "bad". Let me rephrase. If he's a player you're counting on, you're not ever going to win.
If someone asked me, "what player best represents why the Senators have been a non-playoff team for so long", I'd point to Batherson.
A sedative effect?I like Perron with Norris and Batherson. He brings a dimension they need.
Batherson should be shopped next week.Giroux and Batherson might both be gone this offseason
Staios might give him a raise!Giroux is old, man
