I'm not. Those two did a fantastic job together when JMFJ first arrived. Remember #ControlledChaos?

Not that I expect them to immediately be world-beaters; just that there's reason for hope.

Yes, and then they were terrible last year and had to be split up. They played together after the first period last game and looked terrible, they seemed to have trouble connecting on simple passes.

Why won't they just bite the bullet and put Umberger on the fourth line and move calvert to the third?

I love the forward lines. I think Umberger in on the third instead of Calvert might actually be good. We always talk about the great chemistry Calvert has there but he's just been plain ineffective lately.

From now on almost every game is a must win. Detroit, apparently inspired by Zetterbergs injury, is playing great hockey. Philly is up 2-0 on the Rangers.

We lose today we are 5 points behind both those teams. That translates into making the play-offs chances slim to none. Plus, it is obvious that we are going to be the team that gets no help from teams that don't affect us in the standings.

We need to win the next 3 in a row, just to stay afloat.

I know that is pessimistic, but I think I am being realistic here.

Certainly over-pessimistic if you're being literal. We need to win the next three if we want to maintain a >50% chance of making the playoffs, but we could still lose all three and still have a chance of getting in later.

Yeah this is pretty doomsday post. There's 22 games left. Lets just go one game at a time. If you're within 3 games, you're in the race realistically.

I can't speak for the "Can't lose the next 3 games" but dropping a game at home against the worst remaining team on your schedule is a great way to drop out of the playoff race quickly.

So far so good though.

Yeah losing this game would be a gut punch for sure.

Looks like the only line who woke up to play this game is the 4th line of Testube, Calvy, and Mac.
