I actually like that they are doing that, i've been impressed with their team skating and puck movement as a whole, if you have the talent to attack do it imo, they can't stay a counterattacking team forever if they want to become a valid world power.

Sadly it’s not the only egregiously bad usage being displayed by the coaching staff so far. Other countries in this tournament would kill for the talent this coaching staff is willingly burying in their lineup.

It'll go largely unnoticed, but right around 12:30 Seider made somebody look absolutely ridiculous at center ice.
Basically did a standing still deke and the US forward went for where the puck was as Seider skated away in the other direction with it.

Sadly this is common thing with USA hockey. Coaching is pretty much always on of the biggest weakness for our teams. Both Senior and Junior levels.

I hear you but this is pretty bad even for that standard. Although I didn’t really have an issue with Motzko in his two years. For the most part he knew who his best & worst players were.

Most likely not but I think in germanys position you want to try to play that game whenever you can, long term gain is far more important then short term pain if you are them IMO.
The Swiss ended up doing that and it payed off for them.
