Pre-Game Talk: Game 6 -- Friday, 8pm EST

It's kinda hilarious. This team is in its best playoff position in the last decade. 2nd round, with 2 wins in the books (best they've ever done), against the Stanley Cup Champs. They're 1 of 7 teams left to win the whole thing.. which is also kinda nuts.

That said, you just f'n hate how we got here. Typical chokery last game where they all just looked outclassed, and by a bully at that. Now, we did lose our heart and soul in the vocal, puck moving big man Stollie the Goalie - who we lost on a JT-like Montreal tragedy - but, he might be back. And boy do M&M need to make a statement. If not, the team is gonna have to do it in spite of those two, where - especially Matty - the nervous, flip floppy energy is all he has left. He's gonna need a couple bounces and the baby jesus just to get going.

All that said, and as sickening as Game 5 was - this Game means the whole season kiddies. Don't cement your legacy in the wrong direction, ffs.

last game was a complete embarrassment of embarrassments. But it won’t matter if they can win two more games. But I just don’t see it. You don’t beat Florida because they beat themselves. They don’t give you the game. They’re a very tight team that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. The turning point in the series will be losing Stolarz. Before that we are up 1-0 in the series and 4-1 in game 2.

Not having Stolarz's puck handling back there is really noticeable. Woll is terrible with the puck and this can put us behind the 8 ball.

I will be watching. But, after what we saw in the last 2 games, my emotional investment is 100% gone.

And it’s a win win. If they pull this off, we go to the ECF. If not, this will likely be the last we see of Marner in a Leaf jersey. (Thank the lord)

Have we given up all hope here?

I mean hell I understand and I don't begrudge it, but I'll damn well say it, f*** that last game and lets go win this one. They have two games here to man up and not let this story finish the way it looks, like all-time failures. Last chance.

It's time

to think a week ago today we were up 2-0 with optimisim bursting through us all, even the heaviest doubters

i'd say how the mighty have fallen, but the only thing might about this team is it's bank roll.

we are also going to need them to not cost us the game

2 goals were directly on them

being down 2-0 because of your first line is impossible to comeback form

Might be strange, but i hope Nylander has a bad game and M n M save us. That would make Nylander angry in game 7 and M n M to have some confidence back.

What i acually think will happen. 4-0 Panthers. So a bad game by everybody, minus the saving.

The idiot posts about taking out bobsky suddenly dont seem so stupid. To late now.

Nothing personal boys, but screw this. Maybe this is the last hurrah for these guys. They lose and it is, has to be. But for the sake of HF Leafs Board we can't just haemorrhage the possibly last GDT of the season in a pit of misery. I'll make something quick. If we want to be miserable in it so be it, again I don't begrudge it.

Berube should just say f*** it and throw the forward lines into a blender.

Knies-Tavares-Nylander: Put all the dogs and Leafs who’ve had recent great playoff moments and performances on one line and see what happens.

Pacioretty-Matthews-Domi: Separate M&M, hope Domi and Matthews can find chemistry again, and maybe Pacioretty could leech a goal if Matthews draws too much attention.

Robertson-Laughton-Marner: Mitch does his best work when Matthews is out. Maybe on a lower line with no one to defer to he’ll step up more. Could put McMann here instead of Robertson but he’s sucked ass all playoffs, at least Robertson has scored.

Lorentz-Kampf-Holmberg: Literally just a kill the clock line with two centres for insurance.

Here it is again, Squiffy - the most optimistic take we can realistically have right now:

I have no faith in this team. What little belief I had was dashed in the last 3 games.

I'm expecting them to bow out tomorrow. This team doesn't play with any urgency nor does it have the killer instinct needed to win games.

Hopefully Tre can make significant changes in the offseason to our top 6. Never want to see Marner in a Leafs uni again after this season is done.

Might as well hope.. we all hope.

This can still be done, but I think we'll know or have a pretty good idea what team showed up in about 5 or 6 minutes.

It's really all on Berube now to get them to Sunday, then that's the legacy/statement game for this core if they make it there.

Hopefully they don't slowly die like Wednesday & it's the same lineup with or without Domi. I'll be watching every minute, I'm ready for the pain but I'm dreading it.

Matthews & Marner, just split them up.

Guys they’re done. Losses like the last one are completely demoralizing for the moral of the team. Games like that just kill you mentally and only truly the great teams can bounce back from that. The season ends tomorrow
